This needs not much discussion. Same old story for Knicks and Rangers. Sather of Rangers has lifetime job as Zeke Thomas did
until his sex lawsuit lost him job when Knicks sucked worst.

For the longest time in the last meaningful years at outset of year 2000 the KNICKs and RANGERs main tenants of Da' Garden
world's most famous arena, owners of sports business was primarily interested in 1 thing. Making the $Almighty dollar$
so many newyork fans of these pro franchises mentioned here bought into this S_it that you make playoffs Anything can happen.
8th or last seed ain't so bad.
Making the playoffs. That's it!
you start to settle for being mediocre.
This could be sneaking in 8th spot, 7th spot irregardless it didnt matter.
Reason why folks like Scott Layden, Zeke Thomas and now Glenn Sather on NHL/Rangers side sticks around cause
James Dolan wants to make money which playoffs revues brings. Its like Entertainment almost like WWE or Circus.
Concerts.
Those are events.
Sports business should be more than just $$$ rich bigwigs makes and investments they make when folks pay regular season
ticket plans, cable plans OR playoff fees to make bigshots $$$ during the year and spring when NBA and NHL playoffs starts.
Well folks
there aint no NBA/Knicks and NHL/Rangers playoffs this year at "Da Garden" again..
You get what you settle for which is mediocrity by the owners & MSG braintrust owners of the ballclubs.
I thought when you play sports you build OR plan to play for the winning TITLEs the prestige of being champions
You really really think if Owners was so concern with other than "Sneaking " in playoffs for $$$revue profits
of Rangers and Knicks that these teams wouldnt go further in their development quests for TITLE or close to it ?
That is simple and easy to see. In NewYork you have most $money and assets to hire folks, personnel, scouts
and you cant in 1 decade give fans at least teams which contend or be considered.
Da' Garden is less concerned with championship & MOST concerned with money
That is why Cablevision has so many issues in news today cause of their pockets.
Not anything else.
So be happy Knicks and Rangers arent a topic relevant again in plans with contenders in a 2nd season of pro sports
which is norm for these professional teams cause the owners FEEL it in the pocket when the lights are out and their
is NO SPRING ACTIVITY or playoffs or action between April and June 2010 for their teams.
Good for them,
Maybe they will one day mimic success elsewhere and eventually understand you got to want championships NOT
the cash flows which you account for during parts of year for your own investment fortunes!
