I wanted to start my own rant thread about DW and the perception he is sloppy.
He may be so, but lets look at his technique another way.
Plan A: Get enough scratch for two max players, or one with some support. Lebron don't come if we only add him and lose Dlee.
Blan B: a Starphuch where you get Bosh and WaDE. Say two tier 1(B) type.
Plan C: Some createive for of sign and trades to land a CP3 player or combo. Im sure we can get Dalembart and Iggy from philly to put with Dlee for nothing major. You could get Peja and CP3 in the mannar we got Marbury. Lots of crazy combos out there.
Plan D: Walsh is not finding what he wants, so he does what he did in reverse which take on an expiring but either a young player (an asset anyway you look at it) or a draft pick(s) in some combination.
Cap space is an asset and it can be used to also aquire a desireable asset. This is not a starphuch asset nor anything that gives instant gradification by an measure, but I think DW can make some smaller moves to compliment the improving young core and I would imagine already has a deal with Dlee.
DLee is not a new asset and perhaps that does not have much sizzle but if he did not do the Houstan deal we only had room for Dlee and some scratch.
Bottom line is he made room to make a run at Lebron. Then you move on. If nothing, you can actually reset to the way it was. Jhill is a nice player but not franchise talent. In fact, if Houstan loses Mao to injury they might not be that much better than us and the swap was useless to them.
If you want a WINNER NOW type summer, it has to include Lebron! If not, then it a process.
Ultimatly DW is judged by the teams record, not July 1st.
