Its not about "knick luck"...we knew the ramifications and the potential consequences that could result from such a deal. This is about Knick dumbassness.

This is fair. I wasnt impressed by Hill at all, thats true.
But that just bleeds into my overall narrative that I felt Hill was a poor draft pick, and that our lottery asset was a wasted one. That said, its pretty clear that D'Antoni didnt do all he could to maximize Hill and develop and utilize him.
Since arriving in Houston he has shown far more potential and been way more productive than he ever was here, which begs the question --- what was going on here with Hill and what were the Knicks priorities when it came to their top draft pick.
He should have been more properly developed if for no other reason than it would have given us more leverage at the negotiation table. If Hill would have seen more time and produced at a higher clip, then we probably wouldnt have had to include the other draft picks. This is all about maximization of assets to me.
