C Jerome James hasn't played at all this season and has seen action in just four games total over the past three years. But James, 34, was still out on the court running before a recent home game. When the Bulls acquired James from New York as part of the Larry Hughes trade in February, 2009, he was recovering from a torn Achilles' tendon. He vowed to play at some point this season, but realizes it may not happen. "I don't quit, man," James said. "Some people say, 'Hey, it's over.' Not me. I'm not quitting. I'll keep pushing. My teammates love me; management loves me. Everybody around here, we get along. I'm not going to stop working. "Who knows? If we clinch (the playoffs), I might get out there. If we run into Cleveland in the first round, I'm 7-2, 300 pounds. You can put me out there against the big man (Shaquille O'Neal). Who knows? So I'm just going to make sure if it happens, I'm ready."

I saw this dude in Miami once. Seems like a cool dude but this guy is NEVER in shape.

Jerome was a great influence on Eddy Curry. He showed him how to make money and do nothing. I actually admire these free loaders.

The Chicago Bulls have waived veteran center Jerome James(notes) and signed forward Rob Kurz(notes) for the remainder of the season.

James came to the Bulls in a trade with the New York Knicks in February 2009, but never appeared in a game for Chicago because of a right Achilles tendon he ruptured earlier that season.

Kurz, a former Notre Dame player, averaged 17.5 points and 10.1 rebounds in 39 games for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants of the NBA Development League. He also played for Golden State during the 2008-09 season, averaging 3.9 points and 2.0 rebounds in 40 games.

The Bulls announced the moves on Friday.

The Bulls have quit on him though.

ATTN MARV - jerome james is a free agent - now i know why donnie got so much cap room - jj is gonna cost a pretty penny to land. wake up donnie and go get this guy before someone snatches him up
