Kobe's Extension Worth $83.5M

Kobe Bryant's extension with the Lakers is worth $83.5 million over three years, according to an NBA memo.

The dollar amounts are $25.24 million in 11-12, $27.84 million in 12-13 and $30.45 million in 13-14.

Bryant's deal also includes a no-trade clause.

RealGM Note: Bryant is ranked 21st in season FIC and has a Reina Value of -31%, with his lower ranking at least partially attributed to missing a few games due to injury. He 'deserves' to earn Carmelo Anthony's $15.779 million.

i think he deserves every penny... Kobe is a proven champion & still the best money player in the game regardless of what some intricate stat formula will suggest otherwise... there isn't another player in the game i'd rather have on my team in a must win situation.

I'm with TMS. The guy deserves what he wants from the Lakers. He seems to be growing up too, but I guess none of us will ever truely know that.

Damn, remember in '04, or whenever it was when he had one of the worst reps in sports? Runaway ego, aloof, rape case, soap opera ish with shaq, whining to get traded....ext.

Now look. 2nd best basketball player to ever live as things currently stand. he'll prolly be number 3 in about 10 years but for now he's good.

Great investment by the Lakers. deserves every penny. LOL @ some worthless ass Reina value putting him on the same level as Melo. sound real dumb.

Good for him. Somehow I see the Lakers falling apart if they dont win it all this year. We have all seen how ugly the fingerpointing got between Sahq and Kobe, now wait for Gasol, Bynum, WonWon to start slinging mud all over he place.

Kobe may be the next superstar player turned team owner. Its a race between him and LeBron. He has a head start and the benefit of friendlier CBAs than LeBron will likele have. LeBron has juicier endorsement dollars ahead of him. Probably LeBron wins but it could be close.

All he needs now is the statue outside the arena, If i'm correct jordan signed a similar deal during his last run with bulls. That was also be for the CBA, he made 34 mill his last year with the BULLs
