Kobe signed a 3 year deal with the Lakers. What I don't want to happen is that LeBron play games with us during the Summer and then sign with Cleveland and cause us to loose out in getting and signing other players because we were waiting for him. I think that if LeBron intends to sign with Cleveland he should do it now because if he cause us to loose free agents because we are waiting for him I will be a very angry guy and he could then retire in Clevland as far as I am concern. By LeBron playing this game it could hurt us badly if he dosen't come.

Perhaps because he'll make more when his contract expires? Why should he care about other fans "hearts?"

Papabear: This off-season is not Lebron or bust. It's about getting the best available talent for our needs. If Lebron changes his mind at the last second and stays there, the Knicks still have the resources to build a competitive team. And we have another big contract coming off the books next season.

I have to disagree with you Silverfeul. When you give up these assets when you already have some room, knowing full well that more contracts are coming off the books next season, you sure as in hell better be getting the gold. If LeBron and Wade stay in Cleveland, it would be an upset, but I can somewhat understand it. If they end up going somewhere that isn't NY, then it would be a monumental failure.

Kobe was already entitled to 35% of the cap space because he has been in the league over 10 years.

Lebron will not be entitled to 30% of the salary until this summer. He is currently entitled to only 25% of the cap. This is about earning potential in respect to his contract going forward. I don't expect Lebron to come out and say he wants the 30% either.

Have we become so fragile that we can't wait until the finals are over? Is he really "Playing" with us?

Or just a torterous enabler?

Question is Does Cavs winning help him to leave or postpone it? Do I root for Orlando or the Cavs?

We do know one thing: he is an attention whore!

I think Lebron is becoming an attention whore. He would like to be wined and dined and then come back w Cleveland. I am starting to not like this guy.

I understand Lebron is top priority for the Knicks. And that's how it should be. Lerbon should be the only priority because everything falls into place. Walsh has to do whatever possible to sign Lebron and I am almost certain Lebron is coming. From what I have read and heard and seen, Lebron to NY is a done deal. But even his life decisions are not all about basketball. He has a family. All I am saying is that if for some reason Lebron changes his mind at the last second, we are not completely screwed. Sure it hurts but we will still be a much much better team that we were for the last 10 years. In 2011 when Curry comes off the books we get to add another max contract. 2010 on will be very good years for us Knicks fans.

Exactly. Why did Kobe re-sign but Bosh, LeBron, Wade, and even Melo haven't signed their max extensions?

Drama Queens?

Or leaving their options open?

Regardless it reeks of players THINKING about leaving their current teams.

Whether or not they do nobody really knows but the fact that they haven't committed does show these guys are at least thinking of moving on.

The indictment of Walsh already is akin to sour grape practice. Y'all sound reality show victims guarding your emotions as not to be hurt again.

Its just free agency with cap room, not intimacy issues!

What have you read and seen that suggests that LeBron to NY is a done deal, and where is it?

The fastest way to the top is to bring in proven top tier talent. Shaq brought in to pair with Kobe and Wade. KG n Allen to bolster Pierce. This is why DW went all in. For the CHANCE to add two top tier players! No matter what some may think it's totally worth the risk. It may not end up being Lebron in the mix but there are other options that are sure to greatly improve the team and then we also have next summer to continue the improvement process. It's not Lebron or bust!

These very facts are so lost on so many. They pine to have do-overs and build a team of..

Hill
Zach
Gallo
Craw
Douglas

And muse that the 2011 and 2012 picks would be Wall and (whoever).

I don't understand the argument that if we had NOT done what Walsh was doing that everything would have been perfect and we had been building a superpower.

I just don't see it. I saw a continuation of 30 win teams and picking more Sweetneys, Fryes, and Hills....and continuing to win 30 games a year.

Not sure what's so appealing about that.
