You fill out the roster with Bender, and bring back Allan Houston and maybe if Walsh wants to ruffle D'Antoni he could take on Kenyon Martin's contract in a sign and trade where the Knicks give up Douglas and the 2014 first round pick. Commit alot of money to Bill Walker and his surgically repaired knees to prove that the Nate trade was the right move.sidsanders wrote:TMS wrote:how about a Toney Douglas & Wilson Chandler trade for Michael Redd? will give us the no defense playing SG we need & gets rid of our useless defensive minded players... win win. I believe the Knicks must have read this thread.
Scouting report from DX for Earl Barron Able to catch and shoot pretty well. Doesn’t do a whole lot in post up situations. A little bit on the soft side. Solid rebounder offensively, but doesn’t grab too many on the defensive end. Doesn’t show ideal anticipation when trying to block shots from the weak-side. Very foul prone. Had a half-way decent career at Memphis, but nothing that would indicate that he’d develop into an NBA player. Has spent time in the NBADL, as well as in the Philippines. Shows glimpses of what he can do against lesser competition, but hasn’t been able to figure out how to stay on the floor at the NBA level, despite his above average skill level. A lot of that has to do with his defensive ability. |

I know this is at least partly in jest but I think the idea is to get players who bring it on both ends. You don't just want defenders with no offense either. DW comes from the defensive era and from what he's done and said I fully expect him to try to build a strong defensive team as well. We need to let this season go and stop judging things based on this "dead team walking". DW has a solid history of putting together solid defensive teams and why would he stop now?

I don't think this is about Walsh. This is really on D'Antoni's desire to not want to utilize players on the defensive end. I think you have to start and separate the two. To continue to lump them together is unfair to both MDA and Walsh. I don't like to play bad rookies , I like to play good rookies - Mike D'Antoni
