Papabear Says

If Lebron comes to New York and win 2 Championships he will be Greater than Jordan and Kobe. New York is the Mecca of Basketball and if he wants to be the real King James he comes to New York. It ain't about the money. It's about the Legacy he will leave behind. It won't happen in Cleveland. He Know's that. All LeBron have to do is sign with Cleveland right now!! But he won't. Why?? New York Knicks is the place to be. Now he may not come. Then he can put his Legacy behind Jordan, and Kobe.

If he really wants NY it will be a winner for him. If he came, everything will fall into place -- he'll convince another guy like a Bosh to come with him and then I'm confident Donnie will piece together the rest around the two rather quickly. Just talking Jordan for a second -- he had his second banana in Pippen and the rest of those Chicago teams were filled with solid role players, just like the ones LeBron has in Cleveland right now. With the two major pieces in place, I'm confident Donnie can then go find guys like that to fill in around them. He's already got a few in place already with Chandler, Gallo and Douglas with hopefully two more (at least) on the way coming from the draft. Then maybe they find another solid player or two this summer in SL action...Now at the cap, suddenly a lot of the pieces are in place. Then Eddy Curry's contract comes off the books after next year...I understand we'd have to pay Chandler but maybe we trade Chandler in the meantime, who knows? Point is, I just don't buy into any of the anti-NY sentiment that says he'd be leaving a winner to come to a loser. If this guy really wants NY, it could be a winner and quick. Absolutely.

The only difference between the Jeffries/Hill trade and the Marbs trade is that the Knicks got Marbs and Hardaway back. This time they just got Hardaway back. If I am a realist I think the Knicks lose Lee but end up with Johnson and Boozer. I don't think that this is enough for what Walsh gave up and D'Antoni undervalued.

Don't take what LeBron James says right now in the present too seriously. It will mean NOTHING in July when he's in New York during his recruiting visit.

Do people think Lebron is stupid? He knows the pieces it takes to be a championship team in the NBA.

IF Lebron comes here he will likely be alone. No amount of talking is going to convince Bosh to give up a 6th year or Joe Johnson to take less money. Cleveland had to overpay to get Hughes.

It seems to me like guys are willing to go where they can be S&T'd too. Bosh and Amare have already been linked to S&T offers from Miami and Houston at the deadline. Coincidently Amare is from Florida and Bosh is from Texas.

Lebron will likely wait to see where other guys land to see how competitive Cleveland can be going forward. He will also likely see what players Cleveland can bring in to help him this summer.

As much as he's tried to temper expectations about the summer and all that cap space, Walsh knows what the average fan is thinking.

It's LeBron or LeBust.

pretty much
