what if we traded harrington and sweetney for kwame brown. we would get a potential star who is athletic and can play back up at both center and foward until he matures, washington would get a consistant back-up in harrigton and a lottery pick in sweetney who would be able to return to washington where he played at georgetown.

sweetney and brown are about the same age so i wouldn't worry about giving him up, and zeke did want us to become more athletic, getting brown to ny is a no-brainer even if we have to take on some scrub in order to match salaries.

Isiah to Washington: "We know that Kwame has untapped potential, is nearly 7 feet tall with gobs of athletic abililty, but I am offering an overweight, undersized power forward who may never play in this league and another undersized power forward who is at best a backup. Why won't you do it?"

Washington to Isiah: "Thank you, can I have another."

Think Kwame could end up like Jermaine Oneil? I dont see Washington shipping him out and he has been a bust so far - but he does have potential. Never seen him play so I cant judge though.

I read a slam on Michael Jordan the exec on not doing due dilligence on drafting Kwame.

His hands are very small for size. You know what they say about the size of a mans hands......

But he can't catch a pass nor handle the ball with these small biddy hands.

Ewing did not have large hands either, but the were not small, just not large. That finger roll against Indy was not a dunk, makes you wonder what could have been?

Just some info I read on Kwame.

I didn't want Kwame before but havinga PG like Stephon changes everything. We should really go after Athletic PF's or SF or C. Stephon will really help them develop a lot. Kwame has potential and if a trade can be worked out I will be happy with it.

Nalod: I read that too, not recently but i remember it now. I dont think it makes a big difference. Ben Wallce apparently has really small hands. They can works around it. Doesn't hurt that much.

About that Ewing thing against Indiana, that was the SINGLE MOST PAINFULL SPORTS MOMENT FOR A FEW YEARS!! He can dunk with one hand, I have seen him do it. I really hated basketball and didn't watch the rest of the playoffs that year.

I think having large hands can be an advantage - but only if they're good hands. Patrick was the man - but he didn't have great hands. If Kwame has trouble handling passes then his athletic value is greatly reduced as you need to be able to catch passes on the run. That's one of the under appreciated abilities of a guy like Worthy - part of what made him a great finisher was that he could catch the less then perfect pass.

Martin - nice post.

I still dream of it rolling in instead of out!

I know this doesn't make sense ... but part of why I loved Patrick so much was that he had these tragic moments. Just made me root harder for him to get over the hump. Still my greatest regret as a sports fan that he never got his ring.

That OJ slow-speed chase, when NBC cut away from the game even though you could watch the ****ing Bronco on every other channel, was bad Karma!

ROFLMAO

I agree with you about rooting for him harder cause he had those extremely tragic moments. Some of those loses were soo incredibily devastating, it really does take a strong person to come back and try just as hard again and again. He never gave up for all those years of absolute misery. He kept playing harder and better and kept improving till the time his body just gave out on him!

It takes a man to come back every year with the same heart and same resolve and perform every night. Patrick really is the man.

Was good to hear the garden fans giving Patrick his props tonight. A game like that makes everyone miss him. Who's our warrior?
