Throwing some meat into the cages of my fellow ravenous Dolan hatters:

So apparently Rainbow Media -- the subsidiary of Cablevision that owns the Independent Film Center, IFC, AMC, Sundance Channel et al. -- is buying Gothamist LLC, the company that makes Gothamist and those other "-ist" blogs. So Foster Kramer, a blogger at the Village Voice had a post talking about the impending sale, focusing on Jake Dobkin, the head of Gothamist, and his various beefs with the New York Times. He wonders how Gothamist will fare in the Cablevision family. Or to quote the ever-eloquent Voice:

"Wonder how Dobkin's gonna feel with Jimmy Dolan's c**k in his mouth?"

Well, Cablevision didn't like that quote none too much and emailed the Voice, which was clowned in the Voice in an article called Notoriously Litigious Sexual Harrasser Cablevision CEO Jimmy Dolan Would Rather Us Not Discuss His Penis

Well, Jimmy didn't like that even more, and pulled a $400/week Independent Film Center ad in the Voice (which they have every right to do, of course).

Also learned another nugget by reading up on this drame: after the $4 million Newsday.com relaunched as a paid site, they apparently only got 35 subscribers in the first 3 months.
