Grant hill, Jason Williams and Jason Kidd all very productive this season and would have been nice assets.

The old man was at least correct.

Would not have made us a playoff team, but more competitive.

good point nalod, but adding both kid and hill I think would have had us right in the thick of things...

how many draft picks would we have to give up to get rid of their contracts this summer tho?

glad as hell we didn’t sign any of them. the point was to score something with some potential going forward wasn’t it?

It was reported that Donnie offered them contracts back when he thought the cap would go up as usual. Once the NBA released news that the cap could go down as low as $50-53M, Walsh stated that in hindsight, he was glad Kidd or Hill didn't accept their offer as it would've killed their flexibility in 2010.

considering how much we've invested to get cap space for 2 max guys i don't think we ever considered going that route as a possibility.
