would u guys be okay if we can get a KG like deal for DLee, acquiring draft picks and expirings, talent?

if we go this route I think we should ONLY sign good deals and NOT overpay for talent.
and if we can be at best 40ish Win team, signing a player like amare or gay?

or we can save money and suck for another year and develop chandler, gallo, walker, TD, giddens. 2nd rounders
and save cap room for 2011 and go try to sign a CHAMPIONSHIP caliber team.

if it were up to me i use D Lee to acquire a top 10 pick in this year's draft if i possibly could... but we all know that's not what Dolan will want... he won't want another rebuild... he wants playoffs & he wants it now... Donnie sold him on the 2010 plan & he's not going to renege on that plan just because he missed out on the top FA's this summer IMO.

if Lebron, Wade & Bosh don't sign in NY, u can bet we're going to extend D Lee & go hard after Joe Johnson.

After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

The cold hard reality is that this is the best way to go. Two examples where teams were able to buy their way into a championship come to mind:

Detroit acquired Chauncey Billups in 2002... but at that point Detroit had Rip Hamilton, Ben Wallace, and Tayshaun Prince
Celtics acquired Ray Allen and KG in 2007... but the Celts already had Rajon Rondo and Kendrick Perkins

The fact is we simply don't have enough talent even after getting 2 max free agents for a championship team. We need a Center who can block shots, period. We also need a point guard. We would need some combination of 2 max free agents and at least a mid level quality PG and Center... we are 2 mid level contracts short of having enough talent (assuming we can even get 2 worthy max free agents, which is not probable at this point).

Rose is not the answer.

i know it wouldnt make sense for the tmac trade, but i would much rather have another losing year and trade dlee for draft picks and expiring/talent.

and sign NO ONE and just wait it out. We already have waited 10 years for this messed up organization. Whats another year of losing? If we can reaquire back picks/young talent/cap room. We have a lot of players to develop anyway. If we suck enough, we can keep our possible 1st pick. If not, we still have young talent on the roster and new ones coming in this draft/possibly some of dlee trade.

Truth is we are more than 2 max players away from making a true chamionship team anyway. If we can get a deal similiar to KG i think we should go for it. Then we have 2011 or even 2012 to go for. BUT I WANT THAT CHAMPIONSHIP contending team, not a atlanta/toronto like team.

Looking at the Bucks roster, they can use Lee and I dont think anyone makes money besides bogut and salmons. They can really use a PF like Lee and i wouldnt be surprised if they went gave whatever they can as early as they can.

Another look at our EX knicks, Darko seriously looks like he could have been useful with some minutes on our squad. However, Dantoni didnt appreciate what his attitude and what he could bring, exactly what we lack.

Actually Wade will be too busy recruiting players to Miami and it appears Amare will probably land there this summer if he leaves Phx

From ESPN...

One source close to the situation insisted this week that Wade and Stoudemire are closer than advertised as pals even though they haven't played together on Team USA since 2004.

The source also said that Miami is indeed Stoudemire's first choice in free agency if he finally leaves the Suns this summer after being shopped by Phoenix at two successive trade deadlines.

From Miami Herald

Dwyane Wade said Monday he plans to talk to several free-agent friends after the season about their plans (LeBron James, Chris Bosh, Amare Stoudemire) and encourage them to sign with Miami if he stays. Miami has room for two maximum contracts -- including Wade -- with another $5 million or so left. Wade has expressed a preference to stay, and owner Micky Arison put the odds at 95 percent, but he won't handicap it: ``I'm not a percentage guy. I have a lot of things to think about.''

Yeah, if Walsh's BS plan fails, he either is going to have to resign Lee and wait for next year or do a S&T with Lee to try and get back some of the assets we gave away. Given Walsh's track record, I would rather him resign Lee, but if we could get solid assets back, I would be open to trading him.

I know, maybe we can get back Jordan Hill and our own draft picks.

Yes it's hard to play in New York especially when you have a diva like D'antoni as a coach. He is not a Knicks style coach. I hate his style of basketball playing. We don't have one tough guy on this team. D'Antonio like soft 3 point no defense players. He is a gambler. Just keep shooting the ball and luck will come our way. When he had Nash it worked because all of the players could shoot but it wont get you a championship. You've got to be hard and tough. Fire that coach now!! He also mess with kids heads.
