guys.. I have been saying the same thing over and over and over again.
In no paticular order we need:
1) playmakers that can create easier shots
2) size in the post
A PG and a center in a nutshell.
Now, Amare or Bosh would serve as such.
JJ may hold the ball but he creates a lot of open shots. Watch the Hawks for 10 minutes and the guy gets his teammates easy shots.
Bosh is a max guy because of age and production
Amare and JJ arent because of age or health.
I dont know what the Knicks will do but Chandler, Lee, Gallo and even Douglas and Walker are a good set of players to start with. Really a nice range of size and skill there. However they need help and they need someone to get them easy shots. Collison is an option there. NO doesnt need him and I still say we should offer them Chandler and the 2nd rounders for Peja and Collison. That literally takes $18mm and puts it right into Shin's wallet. NO losses a backup PG and immediatly saves a huge amount of money and gets a good young player they need in return.
Then you start the season with starting Collison , Walker, Peja, Gallo and Lee. You have Douglas and Giddens off the bench and anyone else you can get. You have Peja and Curry's massive contracts if someone has a firesale (they always do). Its not a complete team, but it will compete. You have a dishing PG and 3 great shooters. You then look to get some size upfront. (maybe you can get OK4).
Let me add thats a plan E... this assumes we whiff on Lebron, Bosh, Wade, etc
