Let me say this from the onset, a LeBron signing completely changes the face of this franchise for the better, pronto...That said, watching this guy a few years has left an empty feeling in my gut...Yesterday, I'm watching him play hitting off balance shots he should not be taking...The announcers going nuts saying it should count as extra points because of the degree of difficulty, I don't get it...

Basketball is a game of artistry that should be played a certain way...Magic knew that...Bird knew that...Watching Kobe and LeBron play leaves absent the wow factor that comes along with great basketball players...Jordan dominated the ball much in the same way but had that wow factor in his game...He made you want to watch him play...Watching these guys dominate the ball without the pretty no look passes, hitting the dagger three point shot, making the defensive stops, hitting the cutter to the basket, grabbing that huge rebound in crunch time leaves it all empty for me...

Personally, I don't want to spend the next five years watching LeBron jacking three point shots from close to midcourt...Adding no rhythm to the flow of the offense or no style of how to approach beating an opponent in a particular game...He passes the ball yes but is he a dedicated passer, is he willing to make that beautiful pass first than taking that difficult off balance shot...Bird was...Maybe it's my age or the feeling I got watching Bird and Magic last week during the HBO special...Today's stars just aren't playing the game the right way or as yesterday's stars showed us how to play it...Anyone or is it just me???

I agree man, I want to draft our own superstar, Lebron hasn't won nothing yet
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

the cap rules have changed everything. there's no shame in shedding contracts and filling it with a star player.

Wanting to win a championship is selling out? Ok, cool. I guess I'll wait around so the Knicks can draft an unknown college player, develop him and maybe win a championship in 10-15 years. Then I wont be a sell-out.

how did the fans do this? the FO is making the decisions, we are along for the ride. i hated laymas, and there was nothing i could do about what decisions they made. same goes for the current crew. no rules say you have to like what the FO does.

The way he played in the playoffs going one on five for quarters at a time is not going to win him championships, but I think that's the theory behind coming to the Knicks; he would have another all-NBA player on the court with him to keep that from happening.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

hole - you cant be mad at lebron for the way the league has become. for what it's worth, guys like magic, jordan, etc were the ones who led the change in the way the game is played today - the last 15 yrs since then has just been evolution of the game from what those guys started back in the 80's. the team concept the knicks had in the early 90's will never be the same in the nba today - the league too has evolved; from the way officials call the games to the way they handle the draft - its all 'the bigshow' now. you cantbe mad at lebron for that. he's a by product of all that came before him.

Holfresh isn't the first to point this out. I read where at the HOF dinner a group of them were making similar points. They basically called him a ballhog and doubt that type of basketball will result in a championship. It was an interesting piece. Some of it sounds good, some sound like some old fashion playa hatin. I'll try to find it.

As a rule: The best player in the NBA usually wins the NBA title at least once in their career.

I am not a holfresh fan by any stretch of the imagination, but I can understand where he is coming from.

That does not mean that I would turn away Lebron, but he does do some things (in terms of decision making) which I did not see when I was watching Willis, Clyde, Bradley, and Debuschere (sp?) as a kid.

Perhaps he just needs the right team to shine.

I ain't going to be upset if we get him. I would like to grow my own star, but I am not foolish enough to turn away a guy like James if he falls into our lap.

Kobe takes just as many bad shots and Jordan does...

I agree though. Kissing the guys nuts is f'ing stupid. I refuse to do it. I HATE when fans chant MVP for him and LeBron at the garden. It's sickening if you ask me.

90's Knicks ball was about "team"? Time has really build them up. That Team was about Ewing. They were defensive slug team who played hard on defense but were offensively challanged.

The idea is not to replecate the Cavs but surround Lebron with the talent to win. How and what Walsh plans to do that is what we don't know. Im sure some of you know already.

Lebron ball is not a thing of beauty and having seen the cavs a few times I will admit it but they are playing a better brand of ball and they do pass pretty good now.
