Chris Bosh Vents After Loss to Warriors

By Marcus Thompson
Saturday, March 13th, 2010 at 11:35 pm in Uncategorized.

I wasn’t in the Toronto locker room after the game, so this is all courtesy of other reporters. But this is some good stuff. Not sure how often he says this stuff, but it sounds like he is quite fed up. Losing to the Warriors by double digits just doesn’t sit well with him.

The Raptors now hold the No. 8 seed in the Eastern Conference. Not too long ago they were No. 5. If Chicago gets its act together down the stretch, Toronto could miss the postseason all together. That certainly isn’t the way to convince Bosh to stick around.

Bosh: “We’re not playing basketball the way we need to. I guess for some reason, we don’t like to secure a lead and we don’t like to win basketball games.”

“That’s the only thing I can think of. We come out here, we talk about it, we have a billion meetings. We can talk all we want. Unless we do it, it really doesn’t matter. We talk about the third quarter. We talked about the third quarter uesterday. We talked about it at shootaround today. And we go out and do the same thing. So I don’t know. We just lack execution.”

“Just do it. Act like you care. You know, we need to do the things that win. We don’t do the things that win. I’m going down playing offense on their side of the basketball court and their bench is louder than we are. That doesn’t make any sense. They’re not playing for anything. We’re trying to make the playoffs. We’re maybe trying to get a fifth seed, but that’s like slipping every day. We can’t even tell. This isn’t playoff basketball. We’re supposed to be gearing up for the playoffs. Their bench and players are more active than ours is. They get more stops. They get more offensive rebounds. Everybody’s doing everything.”

“It’s like if you look on the schedule right now and see Toronto, I’m sure people are checking something in the win box. I can understand if we lose the game going down fighting. We’re not fighting at all.”

“It ain’t confidence. You just play. If you got feelings and stuff like that, this isn’t the sport for you. Plain and simple. The real world isn’t for you if you have too many feelings. If somebody’s hurting your feelings, you go out there and you play basketball and you play tough because nobody cares about how you feel. Nobody cares if you’re on a 10-game losing streak. Nobody cares if you’re on the road. The only think people care about is if you win a basketball game. That’s it.”

“I don’t know. I’m glad I’m not the coach. I wouldn’t know what to do either. I don’t know how many times you can change it, how many speeches you can give. I don’t know how many lineup changes there can be. I don’t know. The coaches can only do so much. We have to take control of this team because time is ticking and it’s counting down and if we keep playing like we are right now, we’re going to be on the outside looking in.”

toronto is in trouble. it was extremely foolhardy and shortsighted to invest $103M in hedo and bargnani. i don't see bosh re-signing there. i think he'll come to new york. maybe chicago.

i dont know if toronto will due it straight up but that would be interesting, i think they would be looking for a player or pick in return with a 10-12m deal for Lee vs a MAX contract for Bosh.

I am sure they would be looking for a pick or player in addition to Lee, but why give that up. We are giving them an All-Star and we can sign Bosh straight up. We would have to get Bosh on board, but all we need him to do is say to Toronto, I am signing with the Knicks, so if you want something in return, you need to work out a S&T.

lee is an unrestricted free agent.

#1 - does toronto want him?
#2 - does lee want to play in toronto?

if the answer is no to one or both, then that deal is not happening.

Yea I saw this. The guy wants to be "the man" but yets wants to complain. Wade has the scrubtacular Heat in the playoffs so Im guessing Bosh isnt as good as he thinks he is.

if TOR loses Bosh, would they want nothing in return? Or... what other free agent if Bosh goes?

i don't think they'll get desperate and take a player back they don't want.

they can play a little hardball with him. if he's adamant about signing with ny, and walsh won't play ball, then he can sign for 5 years and forgo the extra $30 mil. but bosh has said he wants the max from day 1.

so...i can see both bosh and colangelo sitting down and making a list of his preferred destinations and then have his agent and both gm's try to work out a deal beneficial for both parties.

and we don't know what colangelo's contingency plan is for toronto if bosh were to leave. would he force another contract in the deal (like hedo) or would he want a player in return or just picks so he can rebuild via the draft?

that's why i think houston is a player if bosh wants to leave toronto. the knicks would have to ante up b/c they are in the same division so i'm guessing chandler or gallo would be involved. and miami may have to part with beasley.

imho, my gut says bosh re-signs with a handshake deal to be dealt in a year or two if things don't get better. next year is going to be a weird one b/c of the looming lockout.

If a S&T is possible I suspect Bosh will we in Houston.

Bosh S&T'd for Hill(PF), 2011 swap picks, 2012 pick, and Jefferies(Expiring). You just wait and see.

So Morey would have a lineup of

Yao
Bosh
Ariza
Martin
Brooks

bosh signs outright elsewhere: can opt out of his contract and sign a larger one after 3 years.
bosh signs with toronto or in a S&T: has to wait until after his 4th year to opt out and sign larger contract.

that is true also...but still a gamble none-the-less.

look at melo - he's an idiot for not signing a 3 year deal. might end up costing him upwards of $30-40 mil. he might be better off signing an extension this offseason to stay in denver.

I don't know but I have a feeling D Lee will not be a Raptor. Just a feeling I get. Money is not everything and I think he likes this area and has to Florida and mid west. It's his call. Hopefully he stays a Knick--I will be pulling for it to happen. I still think D Lee at 6 yrs 60mm is a heckuva nice deal.

Bosh is probably losing it in his hotel room right now, cuz they lost again to Portland tonight. The Raps are 1-9 in the last 10.
