I prefer Bosh over Amare too but if we cannot get Bosh, is Amare a bad backup plan? I honestly don't know at this point. Going into this season, I thought we should stay away from Amare at all costs. However, after watching him extensively this season, he really seems to be playing a HUGE role for a Suns team that is currently 15 games over .500 in the West. I mean the guy is simply dominating out there.
And it's not just because of Nash. The spacing certainly helps but the more you watch the Suns play, the more you see them simply dump it into Amare, who just wills his way to the basket and either scores or gets to the line.
I'll tell you what, Lee and Amare would be an interesting front court. Not saying I want to sign both of them in the off-season but I'd be curious to see them together as Lee's jump shot would complement Amare's inside game nicely.
If we don't get Lee back though and miss out on Bosh, Amare might not be a bad option depending on the price.
