or Vice Versa....What the heck it is doing?

Nate(given a new deal this summer but took a long time)....One of the first players to be humiliated this season
Dougie(refer to what was stated why we took him in the draft)....He may be scarred for life after his first yr in the league
Hill(ditto)....We were told he was BPA @ 8 and then almost immediately told to be patient with his progress by the coaching staff
Darko(strongly suggested his career could turn around here, similar to Nash).....Never knew why he wasn't getting PT
Curry(reclamation project who supposedly turned over a new leaf)....He lost weight by taking his time taking a dump on the jon, Coach not impressed
Hughes(when acquired last deadline his acquisition was hyped pretty heavy)...At one point went to the GM to figure out why he wasn't getting PT

All the above were pushed by the GM as having a significant role on this team, yet the coach almost from the get go had no intention of using these guys. With exception to one of the above players, they are/were predominantly defensive minded. Our coach is Offensive minded only. Does our GM truly understand our coach? Does our coach communicate to his GM and let him know certain players won't play unless they have distinct offensive value?

Two guys that I know D'Antoni wanted were Duhon and Gallo. He has not made the same commitment to any other players on the roster other than Jeffries.

Walsh acquires who he can get without adding salary. D'Antoni plays the guys he liked.

We got killed last year due to our size and Walsh acquired Darko to help. D'Antoni let him rot on the bench all year.

We are already throwing out feelers for certain guys. Joe Johnson at the max makes me cringe.

It's almost as if they make moves independently only with the pact of publicly supporting each other. They don't appear to be a match for each other and never were. 2010 is the only thing keeping these guys on the same page. The Nate and Hughes situation coupled with how Marbury was treated last yr after it was stated each player would get a fair shake leads me to believe they don't do too much talking to each other.

Dude Marcus Camby's agent is using us to get paid. TMS how can you not see that coming from a mile away?

the Knicks have the most cap space to use to sign players this summer... if Camby's agent wants to get his client paid, then coming to the Knicks might just be his best option.

I agree with this. In all three situations you mentioned Walsh said he didn't know what the problem was but he was going to meet with each of the players and talk to the coach. I'm sure Walsh didn't expect to deal with the diva side coming from his head coach.

Stephon Marbury was inactive again Sunday, and Knicks president Donnie Walsh plans to speak with coach Mike D'Antoni and his point guard this week in hopes of clearing up an uncomfortable roster situation.

"I thought he was important in the sense that he can change a game," Walsh said after practice in Greenburgh. "That is, to me, what Nate can do when he is playing the right way. He can come in and change the tempo of a game dramatically. But I support the coach. I'm not in the locker room. I'm not on the floor seeing everything that is going on. So I have total faith in Mike's judgment."
Walsh and Robinson had a brief conversation after practice that did not get into the whys of the benching. Robinson is well aware of the reasons and Walsh doesn't feel the need to reiterate D'Antoni's position.

"If it comes up, I would tell him what I see," he said. "I haven't gotten to that point."

But they do not appear on speaking terms. Hence, Hughes' revelation before the game he had to have a meeting with Donnie Walsh on Thursday to find out why he was demoted and air his complaints. You reap what you sow. You tick off players with an utter lack of communication, they'll get you back.

I don't like to play bad rookies , I like to play good rookies - Mike D'Antoni

Portland has his Bird's Rights and 2 centers with unknown major knee issues. It has also been mentioned he may be looked at by Denver. How dumb of us to get into a potential bidding war. Not to mention it would/could get us in a pickel on what to offer Lee.

Lee shouldn't be retained regardless but you get my point.

DEN has only the MLE to offer & they already have Nene & Birdman signed up longterm... i wouldn't consider them a serious threat... Portland has Oden & Pryz who will be looking to come back next season, i doubt they'd offer Camby anything more than a MLE offer either.

regardless, at Camby's age i don't think he gets a 5 year offer from any team, MLE or not.
