Yes he was being guarded by a 6-2 guy but make no mistake--that was an encouraging game. He went in and used the post up/mid range beautifully and was aggressive in the paint--coming out with 4-5 boards. Im not worried about foul trouble--all Im looking for his for him to play the right way. The right way means taking less than 20% of your shots from 3--moving in and getting into the plays instead of waiting for the plays to come to you. Using your length inside to your advantage. I could care less about the fouls--it's the style of play. It seems like when everyone btches he seems to *hear* the critiscm and gets more aggressive. The problem is he has reverted back too many times. Go in their--get position and make some plays. He did that last night and shot 75% and grabbed 4 rebounds in the 1st half. Not a great second half but encouraging. Remember this guy is 6-11--we dont want or need him hanging out 30 feet from the basket--we want him inside calling for the ball and making plays. Play like a PF and he will be a very good player.

I was telling a buddy last night that Gallinari probably could have benefited from playing American College ball. At least some coach would have played him around the basket because he would have been the biggest guy on the team. It would have taught him to take advantage of his height.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!
