I like Al. He's from Jersey. He started the book club that got the Knicks on that run in December. I like reading books too. He wants to be a Knick. Sure, he's a head-down ballhog knucklehead and I think the roster changes and his impending free agency might be doing his head in right now. But I like him for some retarded reason. I would be a lousy GM.

I don't think he can read... May be Comic Books? I am not sure he can follow the Comic story line eather...

I like Al but his attitude may have changed. He was saying earlier in the year that he wanted to stay in NY next year but I haven't heard that for awhile. He knows that the coach doesn't like him, wanted him traded, and will make sure Donnie doesn't bring him back. He also is a vet who is in a horrible losing situation with this team and coach and he can't do anything about it.

He is about as dumb as my dog. Teams have already figured out his stupid move (dash into the lane, spin a couple of times and hope to see the rim), and they key on it every time h gets a touch. When he's not hitting the open 3 he's a terrible liability, FAR worse than Nate.
I can't wait to see his dumb arse heading out the door. I don't care about his blow-up 40 point games.

the new duhon.
goodbye cant come soon enough
i agree his attitude has changed. i think with the mcgrady trade he FINALLY realized he won't be back next season. i have a weird feeling he thought he'd be back before that and now he realizes there's no room.

he's just not that good. He's like a poor man's Jamison. Not quite the rebounder, passer, ball handler. Al can score. His role is that of a 6'9 Nate Robinson. He never passes, does little on D and is a bit of a black hole

Wow, lots of info there. First, when did MDA ever say he didn't like Al? If they wanted to trade Al so bad, why didn't Walsh pull the trigger on the Ty Thomas trade? How do you know MDA will make sure Al doesn't come back? When did he say this? If he doesn't like Al, he sure has a bad way of showing it by playing him so many minutes.....

It was reported that D'Antoni thought Al was ruining the attitudes of the young guys and that he wanted him traded. The trade deadline was 2/18 so I am sure you could look back and find some of those articles.

I really liked his attitude earlier, i thought he could be one of the key pieces. Either it wasn't genuine to begin with , or he just couldn't back his words with action (to use an OBM expression "weak brain")

Al is playing out the string just like the rest of these guys are... nothing left to play for anymore other than his next contract... it's gotten to the point where there are guys fighting teammates for rebounds to pad stats at this point... everyone has no clue where they'll be playing next year & the guys running this team can't be taken at their word on anything... hard to stay motivated under these conditions.

was also reported that there was some internal strife going on between he & D Lee over the offense featuring him so much & ignoring the other guys... i think that's a big part of the reason why you saw guys like Al & Nate chucking up shots at every opportunity... all these guys were playing for their contracts this season.
