I like it, what WFAN Joe Benigno said. He was 150% correct.

Joe also had Knicks beat writer Frank Isola on today for his views on current knicks and July 1.
I agree with everything Joe said about Mike D'Antoni (MDA) and his approach lacking D, as well as his
team effort and preparation for rest of these games even before we acquired TMac.

Joe said he also hopes Prez Donnie Walsh is looking beyond the FA signings to assess whether MDA is
the right coach to lead the Knicks next season and into the future for success of the francise.

Couldn't agree with MDA more. Now it comes out that on the Olympics team Coach assistant Nate McMillan (Blazers)
confides that MDA stated he doesn't really like Big men in the NBA for his coaching philosophy. MDA feels it
slows down the game of NBA basketball.

We need to get MDA out of here or at least assess it. He distrust the basics of game of passing, defense and also
the history of Knick "brand" and identity of basketball which is what winning championships OR contending should be
really about.

Joe says if we get FA's and have the stealth roster we need what in the world will make Knicks fans believe MDA
will want to get into defensive concepts. Where do we get notion that D'Antoni will change ? and adjust.

NBA as most sports is about adjusting. NOT the nba adjusting to what made MDA successful (or 1/2 successful)
However how can you not agree with Joe Benigno ?

Defense is something Knicks have not improved on in nearly 2 yrs under MDA. No excuses for this man.
MDA even on his postgame comments smiled says that CLEVE team is so so much better than us, we cant do anything.

PLEASE ! give me a break
Benigno went on and said even in Knicks 90's as elite and when they declined you'd think Mason, Ewing, the guards
and Oakley would have allowed Cleveland to have so many layups ? a layup and dunk drills ? for ESPN highlights ?
Maybe 1 or 2 dunks but NO KNICK team would have been embarrassed as they have last night, even in losing the game.

You can always make effort and play D' is what Benigno summarized. That is what MDA could care less for.
MDA is more and more looking like culprit and another reason for knicks to go look for a coach next season if
Knicks don't get off to a fast start. But you gotta play defense.

Dont trust MDA to do that !

Joe Beningo is possibly the worst basketball mind in the universe. I'll never forget when he was on the overnight and Eisley was just signed: "In my mind Howard Eisley is the best PG on the Knicks."

oohah

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

The 2001 Knicks with declining Allan Houston could beat these scrubs.

Joe Beningo is right. And to make it worse, Mike D'Antoni still smiled and laughed after that disgrace last night.

Argh, I really hate this guy. WTF is so funny?!

A coach is only one part of a BB Org. The makeup of the team is also in the hands of DW. Also this idea that he doesn't care about defense can't be proved by this weak roster. No one could get this team to be good defensively. When you get a chance to see MDA coach a team with more two way players I guarantee this team won't be at the bottom of the league defensively. His teams were never bad defensively only here with our team which has been poor defensively for years now. That's why we're remaking the team.

Shaking my head at these knicks fans.

D'antoni was hired to recruit talent. We're not firing this guy until after we see what happens in free agency.

lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

I very much feel like kicking small animals and punching Nix when I see his post game interviews.

No offense Nix.

I don't like to play bad rookies , I like to play good rookies - Mike D'Antoni

Lets be honest, the offense was just as bad as the defense and one things is certain, no one as ever question MDA's offensive philosophy. so despite us giving up layups at will, how do you explain the inept offense which looked worse then ever.

Picture yourself in the streets saying you got next with 5 guys who you never played with, against 5 guys who have been running all day blowing everbody out.

Mike is a very good coach, his defensive philosophies is base on his personel, same goes for every coach. Those winning seasons with suns were no fluke, he had the right crew to carry out his mission. Were ridiculously short, no chemistry and at this point, we just gave up JJ, Nate, hill, and hughs, for eddie house, sergio, and bill walker. Put there stats together for the year and it doesn't amount to 20 and 10, so what do you expect
