Lets not kid ourselves about this, Everyone here seems to be looking for a savior. Even those who vehemently speak out against Starphucking, are proclaiming that if we dont land a Star (not just any star but the King of All the Stars in Lebron) then we are Phucked essentially. Its as if we, as NY'ers have a sense of entitlement. Chris Bosh, one of the best youg players in the league, isn't enough. Joe Johnson, who almost single-handedly beat the eventual champion Celts, isn't enough for NY. Amare, nope not good enough for NY. He's good enough for all the other NBa cities but not here.

We've watched David Lee blossom before our eyes, 29th pick in the draft, homegrown, and has improved to the point that he made an allstar team, still most on here cant wait to usher him out of town. Why? Because we focus on all of his negatives instead of really evaluating the situation he is stuck in. Lee is a boarder-line allstar who, at best whould be a 3rd option on a really good team, instead he's asked to do what a number 1 option should be doing his flaws are showing like a pair of dirty drawers on a girl who walked out of the bathroom stall with her skirt wedged in her a##. And the list goes on and on.

I wasn't alive when the Knicks won thier championships, but I'll be damned if I didnt enjoy most of the Ewing years here. I would like to see my team win a championship just like any of us, but its extremely hard to put a championship team together. Everything has to fall just right and the stars have to align.

I think we can all agree that the draft pick Walsh gave up (2012) was a bit too much, but to say he better get Lebron since he gave up that pick is idiotic. You guys act like we gave away the potential of getting a Lebron type of player. the only way to move JJ's contract off the books meant he had to give up the pick. Walsh gambled. Again, it was a bit too much, but you can bet that if Walsh didn't move JJ's contract and we watched Lebron sign with your Brooklyn Nets, this place would be a wasteland of "B!!tching, moaning comapling and 'I told you so's" (Wait a minute, did I just say it would become a place....?). Walsh increased his options of signing a max player because now they can bring a buddy with them. The odds are still below 50%, but its a chance he felt he had to take.

But if LBJ, Wade, Bosh, Amare, and Joe Johnson don't all sign and save us, who will?

The Knicks have gambled everything to get LeBron. Management has the savior mentality. Again, that is not us who did it, it is Knicks management. Sorry if you don't realize it.

Personally I would have preferred to build an actual team so a superstar will actually want to come here, and try to get under the cap enough to sign one big star.

However, if the Knicks do get to add some of the level 5-10 free agents to this garbage that is currently collected here, please do enjoy the mediocrity!

P.S. You greatly overrate David Lee. Once he gets back to playing with a real team where he is the #3-#5 option, he will go back to being simply a good effective player -- and that is not a knock on him. When David Lee is your star you are a 25 win team.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

If I recall, Walsh has said several times that he is not putting all of his eggs into the Lebron Basket, WE, the fans and the media are.

I prefer to build an actual team aswell, and I think we will move in that direction this summer, Lebron or not. We will have 32 million to add pieces and start to build an actual team.

If we dont get Lebron or Wade, what the hell is the point? We couldnt have acquired Boozer or Joe Johnson equivalents, or the players themselves, without giving up draft picks for the next 17 years?

Well we could also go after young guys like Gay or try to make a deal with a team like G.S. Who may be interested in moving a bunch of guys like Monta n Randolph etc to clear salary. Remember we can take back more than we give. We could sign some of these cheap players we have and use them in a trade. There are more options for us than just the FA's. Instead of wishing and hoping for the lottery balls to fall our way the next 2 yrs and hope those picks workout we can cherry pick guys we know can perform to a certain level.

Seb, I already acknowledged that Walsh may have overpaid for the extra cap space. But whats done is done. I dont think getting Lebron will/should justify giving up a pick when we already acknowledged that we gave up too much. Moving forward from today, how can we improve the team? If we land Amare Stoudemire, Joe Johnson, etc, the moves shouldn't be ripped based soley on the fact that we gave up a 2012 pick. Do these guys help us improve moving forward? Too many peole waste too much time driving themselves insane by wallowing in misery over missed draft picks in 1979.

and IF lebron comes to NY, then the 2012 pick was well worth it.

I got to say, all this negative BS talk about the future is tiresome. The plan was to get in position to offer Lebron a contract if he becomes a FA. The Knicks are in position to do so. The REST depends on Lebron. He is smart guy and fully understands what he wants and how to get it. If the Knicks fit, then it will work. If not, then not.

Let's just hold off until after the Finals or after Cleveland loses. UNtil then this is all speculation.

How could you make a statement like that..How could you say Walsh isn't putting his eggs into the Lebron basket...We just gave up two number ones and swap another to get under for 2010...U think we are strategically lining up a Joe Johnson, DLee signing with those moves...Had he done nothing we would have been under the cap in 2011 with Curry,Zach, Craw and JJ rolling off the books...If you believe what he says about 2010, you should want him fired for incompetence for giving up draft picks for entirely no reason...

How can you say we will be building a team starting this summer...We just gave away three years worth of picks...u are kidding me right???

You do recall what Walsh said correctly. But what he says absolutely contradicts what he has done. You think he cleared enough space for 2 max players so he could sign 5 good players while everybody else goes after LeBron? Saying otherwise is Walsh doing pre-emptive damage control.

As Holfresh has pointed out, everything Walsh has done has been to land 2 big free agents, and we all know the biggest is LeBron.

Dude, this was always about a savior when it came to this "Plan". The savior mentality is ingrained in Knicks fans as well. But this is not our savior plan, this is Dolan's, Walsh's, And D'Antoni's savior plan. But make no mistake, it is a Savior plan.

And if the Knicks get LeBron the savior plan worked, at least in the short term and I am happy to eat crow! Anybody else, and the Knicks are screwed, perpetually behind Cleveland, Orlando, and possibly several other teams.

LeBron should also do his research at how the Knicks were at surrounding Ewing with championship-level talent.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

we gave up a lot more than just a 2012 pick... Jordan Hill was still a prospect that was yet an unknown commodity & we gave up swap rights in 2011 which could come back to bite us in the ass just like it did in years past... no one will complain if we get Lebron because all those assets are easily worth getting a player of his calibre... people will complain if we get Joe Johnson however because we could have signed a player of his calibre without making this trade... it's not idiotic to feel like we gave up the farm with 1 target in mind... we obviously did... i don't care what Donnie Walsh says to cover his own ass, if we don't land Lebron or at the very least Wade &/or Bosh, then it's a failure on Donnie Walsh & one that could easily warrant him losing his job over.
