jennings is a rookie pg who's still finding his way. knicks big is the all star, not bogut. bucks roster is filled with guys named delfino, illyasova, mbah amoute, and charlie bell.
so why have the bucks been surging while the knicks are in the midst of putting up another sub 30 win season?

Because it only takes a couple of players who are pretty good to have a mediocre team. Jenning's shot selection is messed up but he leads that team spiritually, the opposing defense has to focus on him, and he breaks down the defense and penetrates the lane at will. That make Bogut twice as good as before and those other guys who are barely NBA players have open looks.
Also, they have a better coach. Skiles ain't great, but D'Antoni's only play is: "Shoot a 3!"

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

I didn't realize the Bucks are 7th in the conference. But remember this is all sacrifice for "the greater good" right? We needed to clear cap at all costs and all other priorities fell to the waste side.

It would have been a lot smarter plan to have enough cap space for 1 max player and then make sure that player had a real team to come to.

See I've always felt that was the plan the Knicks should have gone with. Putting together a team with one missing player is far more enticing than coming to a team that has holes at almost every position: point guard, shooting guard, (possibly power forward), and def center.

Exactly. Walsh signs 2 players to the max and then the Knicks are capped out for about 5 years right? Walsh trades all the first round picks so how does he improve the team or fill the holes? The MLE? And when he did have lottery picks he did not address core needs. I don't get it.
Jennings/Lopez/Lee + Etc., Or Jennings/Gordon/Lee + Etc. Would have been a lot more enticing to the big stars and then you have an actual team!
What is happening now really is just another form of what has been dubbed: "Starphuching".

I felt that Walsh just kind of blew off the draft like no biggie if my guys don't pan out and when in reality it was absolutely crucial to make solid choices with his draft picks.

The draft was more important than any trade.
