What's the deal with Chris Duhon? He was averaging 33 minutes before the trade deadline, and all of a sudden he has 3 DNP. I am like, why did the Knicks management let him play so many minutes early the season? Why didn't the Knicks try to acquire a backup point guard earlier in the season? Might I add, a point guard that's more suited to Pringle's coaching style.
S-Rod and Eddie House is already an upgrade to Chris Duhon, and these guys were just role players on other teams. S-Rod was buried on the bench in Sac., and now he's been averaging about 30 minutes a game. I am sure there must have been other point guards riding the pine on other teams that we could have used to backup Duhon (esp. during his streaks of 3 ppg while shooting 30%). We could still be in the play off mix right now, if we have acquired a back-up point guard early in the season. We could have taken a gamble on Chris Quinn, Dan Dickau, Chucky Atkins, Acie Law, Antonio Daniels, Coby Karl, or some d-leaguer.
Is this just poor decision making on Walsh part or there's some logical reasoning for letting Duhon play 33+ minutes with his 7.5 ppg on 35% FG shooting?
