In any order you want

but he's first:

PG Jimmer Fredette
PG/SG Elliot Williams
C/PF Jarvis Varnado
F Jamine Petersen
G Austin Freeman

Looks like Freeman is out with Diabetes unfortunately--that's just horrible to happen to such a young kid. Hopefully with good care he can come back next year and regain his form and make it to the first round. I think he would be officially eliminated from coming out this year and he was certainly a quality guy who deserved high consideration for our picks. Im replacing him with Ken Faried out of New Jersey. He While he isnt a 3 point shooting guy he is an fast undersized energy player who can come off the bench and bring energy defense and rebounding

So my new order-as long as there is no one that falls unexpectedly

1. Jimmer Freddette
2 Jamine Petersen
3 Elliot Williams
4 Jarvis Varando
5 Ken Faried

If we had the 57 pick maybe--he's dropped back--there are better prospects.

Im confident that these are my best later round picks since I hit Mike Redd--I like all of these guys--all of them will be good pros.

we could probably buy a late 2nd rounder for a million bucks, wouldn't u think? what about that "conditional 2nd round pick" we picked up in the Nate trade? when does that go into effect?

I think that he could be put on for SL team by waiting for the end of the draft. He's a good solid prospect--he didnt improve his jump-shooting this year and he needs to[which may keep him from being drafted or atleast left in the low 50's]. He's VERY good defender and he's very good in an up tempo game--he's very smart--he's big for a combo guard athletic and smart. He'll be in the pros.

It is a future pick not coming NY way this year.

that sounds reasonable... i don't see him projected on the draft boards as a pick... he'll probably gain an invitation on a SL invitation, i agree... would be worth a look... kid seems to have the character & style of game that MDA likes in his players (well, minus the defense part but that's not a bad thing)

ah, thanks... the trade that keeps on giving... we shall reap the rewards of the Nate trade in the coming years.

Don't the Knicks have that Balkman pick coming their way this year?

Yes. It's a 2010 2nd round pick from the Balkman trade.

The Nate 2nd rounder is apparently a 2014 second round pick.

The 2012 pick going to Houston has been clarified.

2012 first round pick (top 5 protected through 2015, else two 2015 second round picks)

Weird ass protection. So basically if we get a top 5 pick in 2012 then the Rockets get 2 2nd rounders in 2015 instead? Why would they agree to such a thing?

I think what it means is if we're top 5 in 2012, we keep it, if we're top 5 in 2013 again we keep it... etc right through 2015. If we're still top 5 come 2015 we keep it - then they get second rounders to finalize the transaction.

yeah but that pick is projected in the 40's now... i think BRIGGS is talking about guys he would take at our projected drafting slots... i think we should probably be able to invite someone like Lin on a SL invitation but i wouldn't mind buying a late 2nd round pick from a contending team w/limited roster spots or trading a future 2nd rounder to nab him... we need to fill some cheap slots in our roster next season anyways.

Wait isn't that pick only top 1 protected. Also you can't have a trade that conditionally specifies two picks from the same round. Teams are only allotted one pick per round each year.

The 2011 swap is top 1 protected. The 2012 pick is top 5 protected through 2015.

As to the 2015 second rounders - I would guess that's poor wording on the site's part. They probably mean the Rockets get 2 second rounders from us starting in 2015...not two 2015 second rounders which of course is not possible.

ok, thanks. That makes more sense. On that 2012 pick being converted to second rounders. That would seem like Houston would get the short end of the stick by alot if NY doesn't make the playoffs. Do you know if they have the option of just taking a 1st round pick after 2015 since it loses protection after a certain time like the pick going to the Jazz this year? I can't seem to get a resolution on that.

all Houston has to hope for is that the Knicks aren't one of the worst 5 teams in the NBA & they can still walk away with a top 10 lottery pick.

Yo, if Brackins falls to us in the 2nd round like he's projected to now on Draft Express... miracle of all miracles, he would be the new Al Jr with nothing in terms of salary commitments. That is an amazing bench front-court guy if he falls that far. He's ready now and is the kind of player that will look better with NBA floor spacing and other players to shoulder the load.

and... if you can get them to come out, Tyshawn Taylor and Avery Bradley are other once-upon-a-time lottery kids that would be nice late

Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Right, so it's in 2011 where they can score BIG, just like UTah will this year.
