He didn't show up to Summer League!!
He was photographed in public wearing a Yankee shirt so he's gonna switch to baseball and leave us in the shizzle!!!
[Unnamed other FA] touched his head!!! Chronic concussion!! We suck!!!
[Unnamed other FA] didn't declare undying love for NY. He's leaving!! We ack!!

Sigh. Why is noone ever happy around here?

Some men see things as they are and ask why. I dream things that never were and ask why not?

What makes you think we're not happy? Maybe predicting disaster makes us happy.

Could it because that they have had a steady diet of ineptitude by coaches/brass and losing teams for over a decade?

I love how nobody can point out a simple fact about a player's health or poor play without someone freaking out about it.

Tmac's multiple surgery repaired left knee was bothering him as he sat on the bench and you could tell he had a slightly awkward gait when he walked to the bench at times.

Gallo's back spasms definitely come and go and you can tell when they are bothering him because he goes from draining perfect shots to shooting airballs and he too will walk very stiffly when he heads to the bench during the times his spasms are acting up.

But hey, I guess it's all a mirage, and anyone who points these things out obviously wants these players to be hurt, right?

Jeez, give it a rest people... what's with this "EVERY PLAYER IS 100% HEALTHY AND EVERY PLAYER IS PERFECT AND IF YOU THINK OTHERWISE YOU'RE A TROLL" bullcrap that's been going on recently?

Apparently nobody is allowed to have an opinion on a player other than "HES PERFECT. FUTURE HOF SUPERSTAR. 110% HEALTHY."

Or he's descended upon by a group of rabid fans like vultures attacking a corpse.

No Cosmic, you blessed muppet, it annoys me because when I heard we had traded for Tracy McGrady, I assumed he wouldn't even see the floor, let alone play high level basketball. We trade one pick and Hill for enough caproom to sign at least one stud and his support cast and all people are saying is that "yeah it might be astonishing that our empty expiring capspace turns into a very good player in the ONLY game he has played for the Knicks, but damn it looks like he might be carrying an injury". Well duh Einstein, we got Tracy McGrady for practically nothing, you thought we were getting the T-Mac from Toronto and early Houston?!?! Now who's fooling themselves?

I think some people need to take a long hard look at themselves and admit they are looking at the glass from every single angle and demanding it be half-empty. It's simply unfair on the team, the coach, the GM and not least Mcgrady himself. Either T-Mac is an expiring contract and nothing more in which case Walsh pulled off a gamble to open up more caproom for better or worse, or he's expected to be the original T-Mac, I. Which case Walsh pulled off the deal of the century. You can't have it both ways and claim ineptitude from the head-office. It's unfair, logically spewed and a flatout sad way for fans to behave.

Rant over.

The guy has a history of knee problems and surgeries and people took note that his knee was bothering him last night.

I don't really see the problem with pointing it out at all. It's not like people were making it up or hoping he's hurt.

What you're saying is true. But the fact remains that Mcgradys knees have no impact on the trade that was done, and people are using his discomfort to point fingers at management and to say what a pisspoor job they did. That, in my opinion is ridiculous. I just got off a flight, saw the bixscore, read the writeup and logged on expecting to find UK members revelling in the fact the he played well. All I got was a bunch of threads deriding Mcgrady for being a crip. It's dumb. Stupid. Asinine. I'd the guy gives us games like he did last night for the rest of the season, Walsh should be given a medal. Instead all anyone seems to want to say is his knees hurting him. Like that's some kind of news. Like he's here on a 5 year max deal. He's not. He's an expiring contract who is giving more then anyone had a right to expect. To say otherwise is an insidious attack on Walsh with no basis or foundation.

Yup.

People also react to the comments about him rubbing his knee because they are anxious about the possibility that he may actually have some game left in his body, AND the belief by some that he may actually want to play here for less money than you would expect a player of his stature who can still contribute would ask for.

Ultimately, his knee will respond to playing time one way or another, and nothing any of us can say will make a difference.

/me thinks this is somewhat a spinoff of MSG/Knicks trying to keep EVERY word about the team positive. The brass doesn't want to hear any criticism...could this be a reflection of D'Antoni's personality?

May as well try to silence the crowd in the Garden...you screw up it will be exposed...bright lights big city...they should focus on winning and just quit trying to control what is said about them.

Sheer speculation of course...but notice the Newsday/Knicks tango now.

Right. You guys obviously didn't get the memo. You must not be on the "MSG mole" mailing list.

Oh, I see now what you're getting at.

Well, that's foolish because the trade was made for cap space. If TMac had something left that's an added bonus - not the crux of the purpose of the trade.

So well that's on those fans who still think anything Walsh has done the past two years was done in an effort to add to this ailing core to try to win games (Like Isiah kept doing - and failing at).

Walsh has made trades to dump salary - but in the meantime tried to maintain a balanced roster. I guess this was misinterpreted as a man making power moves to turn the present core into an elite team. When he was making moves to set up our future rebuild.

We're in full salary dump mode and have been since day 1.

Whatever the players returned in trades give us is a bonus if they do well and a "oh well whatever they're expirings" if they don't.
