but get me Jimmer Fredette. Use both 2s in the 30's and 3mm to move up. We missed the PG draft last year--make amends here. This guy would be perfect here.

However we obtain a first round pick, via $$ or trade, the pick doesn't count against the salary cap until after the season begins I believe, so it wouldn't affect out FA signings, right?

First round picks immediately have a cap hold equal to the guaranteed money a player would get if selected at that position.

Such as, Jordan Hill's #8 pick, if acquired today, would have a 2.7M cap hold on it.

This is why if we traded for any first round picks at the deadline we wanted 2011 picks not 2010 picks. We got rid of Hill not just because he stinks, not just because Houston wanted a young player, but because his 2.7M was crippling our 2010 plans.

So I don't see any way we bother buying a 1st round 2010 pick.

Cosmic is correct.

No chance in hell we add another cap hold before the 2010 FA market. Especially when we may just barely have enough to max out 2 players. Donnie is not going to jeopardize that.

It's a pretty simple maneuver--if we were able to move our 2 2's with 3mm to get to 20--the other team simply completes the transaction after FA--they pick for us--we pick for them and complete the deal after we are done in FA.
