Offer them the Knicks City Dancers?
Alan Hahn:
Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

Will the Cavs be under or over the cap in 2010?
http://kmvenne.blogs.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/11912871/12610983 Basically, the Cavs can only offer a Bird Rights contract if they are under the cap... the bulk of that 30mm difference is in the additional year from a Bird contract. Rose is not the answer.

Is this some kind of joke? Do you think 30 million more is going to do anything for your heart or you as a person? I walked away from a **** load of money and stock options to find what I love, and for the most part I did it. 6 figures just didn't do jack for me and my heart and understanding what life really is. As a matter of fact, lots of money will tend to take you away from life, not to it. ( I know too many people with money to say otherwise.)
That said, I don't have a problem with those who seek it out. To each his/her own. And with a star player, who is going to make waaaaaay more in marketing dollars, it's a not brainer to take less and make your team look better. Your products will sell even more. Sometimes taking one step backwards first, is the best method. Oh, To prove you point you might not want to start with a sick cult member... Here we go again with the misinformation.
Knicks can offer 5 years at 10% raises and a starting salary of 16.5M Cavs can offer 6 years at 12.5% raises and a starting salary of 17.5M See the difference? It's the SIXTH YEAR. It's an entirely extra year. It's not 30M more over an identical length contract. So stop with this foolish BS. You compare 5 years to 5 years and you get your proper difference between the two choices. It's under 10M difference.
So just STOP with this "30M MORE" bull****. It's wrong. It's misinformation. It's posted to sound good. And BRIGGS you're acting more and more like a fan that wants the team to fail so you can bitch and moan. This is getting old. Are you a Knick fan or are you a part of the GKF/Opt/Bluest Troll Troop? http://popcornmachine.net/ A must-use tool for NBA stat junkies!

Can the Raptors offer Chris Bosh a contract that would be worth more than 30mm than the Knicks can offer?[only one answer YES]--that's the whole gig Cosmic--that's why they made this rule--it gives the home team a big advantage and rightfully so. Briggs- I think last nights game epitomized the difference in strategy being pursued by Dolan/Walsh, and the strategy being advocated by many here, like yourself. Granted, T Mac's first game with the Knicks and first in ages. But you have a starphuck strategy vs. a team that has sucked but accumulated its franchise player through the draft, and assembled a supporting cast the same way. In 1 second, I would trade their roster for ours. If we miss Lebron, we're going to probably suck for the next several years. The Knick Franchise is becoming a joke. Even if we add Lebron and lets say Bosh, we're capped out, and have to depend on Walsh to find vet min. salary guys to fill the roster out. Anthony Roberson! And we know Walsh does not do a great job of evaluating such scrap heap talent. And then, we have no picks to add players to Bosh/Lebron. So as far as those too can take a roster of scrubs, that is what we have to look forward to for the next several years until they both opt out and go elsewhere! |

I'm not explaining it to you twice, BRIGGS, go back and read the post I already put in this thread and stop being dense.

It's 30mm more + my friend--anyway you want to view it. 5 years 70mm versus 6 years 104mm. I guess you can guarantee that a player will make an additional 30mm once his 5 year contract is up. I'm not the dense one here my man. RIP Crushalot😞

Extra year or not, it is additional money and comes at a time when everyone expects the new CBA to give players lower salaries.
So there is plenty of incentive for the top stars to go after that extra year even if it means orchestrating a sign and trade. Better to do it now before the new CBA lowers your salary. We're building for the future." - Zeke (I guess not protecting a first round pick is being conservative)

What if LeBron blows out his knee before the contract is up? He might not get signed again at that level. He's better off with the longer contract for more $, right?
