I like the PG combination of these two. They compliment each other well and can be on the floor together when needed. I think going forward both can potentially be keepers. House isn't a pure point, but i thought he did a very good job handling the point and of course his offensive spark is unreal. Moving forward, if you have players like lebron, mcgrady, or both, House could potentially start at PG for the next couple years. He fits this offense and alongside those type of players so perfectly. He's ideal off the bench for a spark, but his shooting ability and his solid defense makes him a possibility as a starter.

Meanwhile, Rodriguez is perfect off the bench if you have guys like james and tmac because he can create offense when those players aren't in the game. He's just not a good enough shooter or defender to play alongside star wings. But i definitely like the prospect of these two for the future because they can be retained for cheap and bring 2 completely different dimensions to the team.

It's not necessarily our back court of the future, it is simply a great option since it will be hard to find something better this summer. You can't determine someone you're definite point of the future unless they project to be among top 5 points in the league, because obviously there are always possible upgrades, but going into next year, it will be hard to find better fits then these 2.

i think those 2 guys would be great role players to have off the bench, but i wouldn't slot either of them into a championship starting rotation... i will have to see more from Sergio to make that conclusion but not a bad debut tonight... i've seen plenty of this from Eddie House over the years so i'm not surprised he played as well as he did tonight... he's torched the Knicks on more than 1 occasion during the Marbury years.

Sergio Rodriguez is the same guy that has not even been able to get any time on the court competing with Steve Blake and Beno Udrih. If he is better than Duhon, and that is still an "IF", that does not mean a whole lot to me, because Duhon is one of the worst players I have ever had the displeasure of watching.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

House made some really crisp passes into the paint. I didn't expect that at all.

I wonder if we get Eddy back on the court, how House and Eddy would do together. The biggest problem we had with Eddy in his short 4 game stint he had this season was that no one on our team, including our PG Duhon, could make an entry pass into the post.

Sergio is really good. He can be dangerous under the direction of MDA!!! Don't tell me you guys didn't see the skills! He wasn't overwhelmed by the competition or the moment. He has great court vision and excellent hands. A great handle and he's not slow as someone tried to say. Sergio understands what a PG us supposed to do. I'm sold! Yes after one game! Why? Cuz it wasn't a scoring outburst but time and again he made the right pass at the right time. He pushed the ball. Got in the mix and just flat out played the position right. He should be the starter cuz he is a far superior PG to Duhon, not even close!!!!!!!! We just need to develop this kid and give him a full shot to be our #1 PG.

I don't need to trust you. Portland fans can attest that while he's no Steve Nash, he is better than Duhon. His game is tailor-made for D'Antoni's system. He otherwise looks mediocre anywhere else. Sergio Rodriguez will be much better than Chris Duhon. If you don't believe that, then you simply have your sights set on hating every single move the Knicks hate.

If Rodriquez' is not a good enough offensive and defensive player, then wouldn't it make some sense to play him with players who could compensate for him? I see your point though, yeah he can create for our bench but he still isn't going to be the great scorer or defender (though he is active I hear), so he is going to need to play even better with the bench.

Even though it's one game it's nice to see that this team can play. And as Briggs said on another thread, perhaps bringing Tyrus in here would be a good idea. One max in Lebron and surround him with good talent. We already have some of that here. Interesting to see how the year plays out and at least now I think Utah's pick won't be top 10...
