i liked him too... At first it thoguht he was gunna return to form.. but now i am doubtful... i dont think its impossible that next year he will be a lot better than he is now... 15/8 is where i see his career goin... if only we had a healthy mcdyess to go along with starbury.. wow... we might actually win it

i feel bad for him. I know he made all that money doing nothing but he felt guilty and wanted to impress more than anything. He was a really good guy. I hope he only gets better in phoenix. Not a lot better cos then i might regret this trade lol

McDyess came to NY under very unfair circumstances, as a result of Layden's stupidity. It's very common for athletes who have had patella tendon repair to subsequently suffer patella fractures, because they have to drill holes in the patella to re-attach the tendon.

Layden vastly overpaid. If he had to trade for a player coming off such a serious injury, it should have been for Camby and a conditional first rounder. Given that McDyess didn't play last season, the condition wouldn't have been met.

It is almost impossible for a basketball player to return to form after two major surgeries to the same knee, let alone three.

If McDyess stays healthy, he can probably become a good role player.

From that standpoint... we could potentially retire #34 now...

or... alternatively, if we are making a serious playoff push, sign Oakley for the rest of the season. :)

i thought MC D was a good guy, he will be happy with the Suns but he will never be the player he once was. Good trade for Isiah to get rid of him. I wish him the best. same with Ward.

I really admire McDyess. He could have folded and retired with all the money he was making but fought to come back all for the love of the game, depite everything bad going on around him. Now thats a player. I hope he does well and i still kinda hope he signs with the Knicks next year (for less money ofcourse). Thomas is a good power forward, but even McDyess has faster legs with more spring.

Laydog held his hand and helped him thru a tough time. Laydog was good that way. Dude was too nice a person and was unfit for job he was hired. Knicks need a hachet man to do what Thomas did.

Laydog could never have traded the wounded, fired the weak, or cut the untalanted. Some could call him a gutless wonder, but in defense of Laydog the person, he is a good guy, and as I have said before, and awful hire to begin with. Totally a talent better suited to scouting and evalution work.
dice got alot of support here. His comments about the trade were mixed. I thought he sounded sissified. Im sure him and Laydog hugged, sang Kum-Bah-yah and traded gifts.
