i will be here all night if i listed them all..i will start with one of the worst

1. 1987- scotty sterling trade 1987 1st rd pick UNPROTECTED to seattle for gerald henderson..
pick becomes 5th pick in draft..seattle drafts scottie pippen then trades rights to bulls
for olden polynice..imagine ewing and pippen instead of jordan and pippen..how many of
those 6 bull championships in the 90's would belong to the knicks

2- 2002..scott layden on draft day trades 7th pick in draft plus marcus camby for antonio mcdyss + 25th pick..denver drafts nene with 7th pick but could have had amare soudemire..knicks draft pg frank williams with 25th pick..knicks would have been pretty good with camby and amare upfront last 8 yrs

Speaking of 1987, we also traded the pick we got from Denver to Chicago for Jawaan Oldham who barely played. The #5 pick was Scottie Pippen, but we did get the #18 which was Mark Jackson. But that #8, that could have been Reggie Miller. But since we had Gerald Wilkins, we probabley would have taken Olden Polynice, Derrick McMey, or Horace Grant, who knows.

The worst trade in my mind was in 2001. Glen Rice, who would expire in a few years, for Shandon Anderson and Howard Eisley. It was the horrible Ewing trade which just kept getting worse and worse.

I never got over that...Strickland said the Pitino, Knick coach at the time, use to tell him he will never be a starter in the NBA...This is what kills me about letting coaches have their say about the roster...

yes that other 1987 pick for oldham was the 10th pick that chicago used for horace grant..pippen and grant with ewing would make knicks the team of the 90's..see donnie how draft picks can be used for the cornerstone of a team

lets not blame pitino for this trade..pitino was gone at the end of 1989..this trade was all bianchi

4- 1981 eddie donovan traded 1980 1st rder mike woodson to the nets for 32 yr old mike newlin..woodson went on to a nice career mostly with the kc kings while newlin was out of league in 1982

4a-1981 eddie donovan traded 1981 1st rd pick #17 to cavs for randy smith..i dont remember who the cavs pick was because the owner ted stepian probably traded it away..soon after stepian rule came into affect thus teams couldnt trade 1dt rders back to back..the knicks in this era helped stepian by giving him 1st rders for him to trade..if the knicks flounder the next several yrs im afraid there might be new rules called the walsh rules when you cant flip flop 1st rders in between yrs you have no 1st rd choices..smith played one year for knicks

5- 1979 eddie donovan...knicks signed marvin webster to fa contract..knicks and sonics couldnt agree on comp (thats how it worked back then ) so commish obrien intervened and awarded sonics the knicks best young player lonnie shelton and 1979 1st rd pick..knicks got webster and 1981 1st rd pick..shelton became one of best power forwards in league..sonics chose vinie(microwave) with knicks 79 pick and became a great 6th man for the late 80's piston championship team..the 1981 pick the knicks got from seattle(7th overall) was traded to clevland (who traded that pick of course) with joe merriweather for campy (not to be confused with cazzie) russell

The Chicago Bulls convey to the New York Knicks the contract of Antonio Davis and the signed-and-traded contract of Eddy Curry. In exchange, New York conveys to Chicago the contracts of Tim Thomas and Michael Sweetney, the signed-and-traded contract of Jermaine Jackson, and New York’s regular second round draft choice in 2007 and 2009.

Antonio Davis and Eddy Curry (newly signed!) with heart problems in both senses of the word

for

Expiring contracts, cap relief
2006 1st rounder Tyrus Thomas
2007 Right to switch 1st rounders: Joakim Noah
AND our 2nd rounder btw this is the draft where Marc Gasol got drafted in the 2nd round

Good times all around!

Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

the 2006 1st rd pick was the 2nd pick in the draft which was portland's aldrich..chi traded the 2nd pick for the 4th pick plus future consideration..that's why with smart picking good nba teams are built thru the draft

^A strong one. SMH.

The Eddy Curry deal is too easy.

How about the Knicks trading Mark Jackson for that 'Push up Pop', Mr. soft ass Charles Smith. Was Charles Smith getting his shyt pushed in by the whole Bulls team and the equipment manager the darkest day in our franchise? I think so.

How about trading for Mark Jackson the second time from Toronto. We sent Childs to Toronto cause Jackson could run a team better then proceeded to lose to Toronto in the playoffs.
