People have questioned how players around the league view this team and its cap space (i.e. do they respect the knicks and view the garden as a great place to play, etc)... I thought this was interesting in regard to that...

hahn's twitter:

TMac on NY: "Every player should want 2 play here...this frnchse hs been down so long, y not be part of something special and build it up?"

McGrady says if Knicks bring in LeBron or Wade, "I'd be a damn fool not to want to stay here . . . Money is not an issue [for me]."

More McGrady: "This is not the same Tracy from last season when I was hobbling on one leg. That’s not going to be me. " #Knicks

McGrady speaks: "I know these guys are seven games out of the playoffs, but this is the team I really wanted to come to.” #Knicks

D'Antoni on if McGrady will play right away: “Might as well, we’ve only got 29 to go." McGrady will be in uniform vs OKC if physicals clear.

D'Antoni on Walsh's moves: "What Donnie laid out for me [when I was hired], he executed almost perfectly. I think that’s what’s reassuring.”

D'Antoni on how trades may change the way the team plays: "Yeah, we're going to speed it up again." #VivalaSSOL

This is why I don't think the fact that we only have 4 players under contract next season is that big of a deal. Veterans will want to sign here for the minimum. We only need 8-9 ballers anyway.

i think D'Antoni will try like crazy to bring back Sergio and House next season - they're ideal guards for his system. Tmac will probably be a wait and see.

who is going to play Defense? TMac, Sergio and Dlee are not into Defense. It falls on Chandler and Gallo, but there is no inside presence, it will be layup sessions again.
But they will be more fun to watch than Duhon, Hughes, Jeffries.

Who cares about defense? We're going to outscore opponents either way!

Come on guys!!

New Knick Tracy McGrady said today he's willing to take less money to stay in New York if it means a chance to play with two other stars among the LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Amare Stoudemire quartet.

"I'm going to tell you guys like this: I'm a guy whose made a lot of money over my career. I could retire right now and retire financially. My kids can be fine. Money is not an issue," McGrady said. "These guys would bring in a LeBron and D-Wade, along with a Chris Bosh or a Stoudemire, I'd be a damn fool not to want to stay here.

"I would definitely embrace the opportunity where money is not an issue.''

lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

d'antoni's referencing the 'speed it up again' is a direct shot at duhon.. the offense had to be slowed down for him. good to hear that it sounds like sergio is going to see plenty of PT.

I hope it doesn't mean a return to de-emphasizing defense. Lebron is on record as considering D of utmost importance in post-season success. And we all know that is true.

Sounds good to me - but what level can TMac still play at? I like him, always have and I want to see him put it together here, but how many times have we seen it not happen? I guess we are due though so I will be optimistic. If he can still play I think he will be our largest recruiting asset. The Knicks have not had his kind of talent and star power in over a decade.

If he wanted to play in NY why did he say that if the Kings released him that he was going to sign with the Lakers or Cavs? If money was not an issue why did he say that a buyout with Houston was out of the question back in December?

Also, I didn't realize Jeffries was the reason that they weren't running SSOL anymore.

is that how you interpreted it? i interpreted it as now they have a different PG who is capable of running it in sergio. to me, it was a direct shot at duhon.

Cuz to date, we have neither Lebron nor Wade nor Bosh.

Especially since he has not won a playoff series yet.

He's lyin. Its about the money 99.99% of the time with these cats. Whoever was the interviewer, I would have asked T-Pain to look me in the eye when he said that --- but he cokkeyed.

Well Duhon is still here and Nate is much faster than Sergio, so I can only assume that Jeffries was the hold up on SSOL. When he said he was running SSOL last season, Jeffries was not in the starting line up and wasn't playing much.

Obviously. This guy will probably sign with Cleveland for the full MLE if he could.
