First off, dont get me wrong, I still like the trade.

I was a little ticked off when i heard we gave up to first round draft picks, it was when i learned that we were sending Lampe off that ticked me off. We all know the kids going to be special. I was looking forward to seeing him develop into a good player here. But the knicks organization always trades its future for the present and its starting to get on my nerves. I would have been all for the trade if we didnt have to give up our future. I was willing to live with the draft picks and milos goin but losing Lampe kinda hurt.

Anyone else feel the same way?

Yes, this is the one guy that bothered me too. With him, the picks did not mean too much to me, but without him, NY needs to retool with the draft again and they cannot now.

that being said, it was going to be a long time before lampe produced here.

first of all guys, steph is jst 26, he is the guy you rebuild around.

Next, I hate losing lampe also but it is not like we traded him for Ron Mercer or someone like that..

Next, we still have sweetney and williams and a 2005 first round pick, our bench will still be filled with young guys with potential..

wake up guys, we got a star to build around..

geez!

It's hard to believe that Phoenix said no deal unless Lampe was included. I don't think Isiah was that high on him.

Don't get me wrong, i like the deal, i just think we gave up a bit too much. I guess Lampe was needed to make the salaries work though.

I had high hopes for Lampe too.
7 foot tall forward who could shoot?
When is the last time we had one of those?
Not in my lifetime.

This one hurt.

Also curious to see what comes of Slavko Vranes.

Hope he proves me wrong about this accusation,
but I have the sense that Isiah won't have any
white players on his team.
KVH is the next to go.

Thomas wont have any "pretty soft players" on his team... HOUSTON AND VAN HORN, good to go!

The thing about Lampe is that he had us cheering when we stole him in the second round!!! Having the draft history we have this just seemed to be a miracle!!! Id have loved to see him develope into a great player with the knicks!!! never the less its still a good trade!!! id just have loved to see Lampe live up to the buzz!!! ;-)

It's not about race with Messiah Thomas, it's about toughness, grit, and talent. Remember he had Bill Laimbeer on his team when he was a player? He was white, but also one of the hardest-core players in the damn NBA at the time, too. Those are the kinda players we need on this team, ethnicity notwithstanding.

That's a far cry from LayDown, who brought players here who were mostly white, and soft in damn near every case.

Let's not even take it there.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!
