Don't knick fans wish we had this guy? young agressive GM!
Wanna know how he does it? He got cap room to take Amare on and picks to give.
Walsh is not hte sleep old man anymore. The GM viagra is CAPSPACE. That magical fountain of youth that empowers GM's into greatness. Us it well and your golden.
Next year he has Yao off the books. If Yao is not Yao anymore then they have CAPSPACE.
Bathing in capspace and draftpicks is what Briggy can only dream of!
- The Suns were insisting Houston waive the physical for that exact reason.
- This deal has ZERO to do with cap space. Morey flipped guys he found in the 2nd Round into better players. This trade is all above good drafting and and acquiring assets.
NO doubt, and Houstan had been mediocre for years. Even with Tmac and Yao they can'd advance. Even after winning 22 in a row, they can't advance.
So they are rebuilding on the fly and have Yao on the blocks.
The guy is doing a good job with a roster. No doubt.
I prefer like many to have been in the same position but we had some really bad deals and the only way to get rid of them was to package it with assets.
Maybe had houstan gone all in a few years ago they could have competed better.
Isiah took on contracts to get assets, and we had to shed assets to get rid of them. Im not laying blame, just stating what is.
ROckets have Yao expiring. There is no way with his health record would anyone max him out again.
Hows this for cap space. Say we have room next year and don't sign everyone.
YOu could trade Eddy for Yao. Does not help our cap, but it saves Houstan money. Could put us in the playoffs if we are sniffing it and Yao is healthy. Just throwing out a situation that could happen.
Nobody touches Yao for big money. Yao in NY? Don't laugh.
