knicks have to sign a big in the offseason. obviously everyone would want bosh from the list, but if no bosh, then who's the 2nd FA?

Amare is going to command a near max, so I'd honestly just take Lee for 8-11, over every other big. I'd also like to explore the idea of signing Marcus Camby.

That would be a fail. You give up the #8 pick, swap picks and another 1st round pick to sign Lee.

He's just pissed because the Craptors are getting bounced out of the first round, and then losing Bosh this Summer, to the team he used to root for.

Biggest issue is Bosh isnt signing here unless someone else is joining him. Hopefully we get our deals in place by July 7th.

i expect them to lose in the first round...and it's all good. my championship "fix" is satisfied by the yanks. raps & redskins just need to be decent for me to enjoy them.

Can use that 1st max slot on a guy like Joe Johnson and then use the remaining $5 million you have on Camby.

Once that is done, re-sign Lee and you have 3 positions locked in for the season.

This of course, is assuming we strike out with LeBron, Wade, and Bosh...

going to all this trouble & giving away all our future assets so we can sign JJ, re-sign D Lee & sign a 35 year old Marcus Camby??? we better damn well make sure we get 2 out of Lebron, Wade, Bosh or Amare or else Donnie Walsh deserves to be fired on the spot.

Though he is 6'9" or whatever, calling Lee a 'big' is a bit misleading. 'Bigs' have a presence in the paint. Lee doesn't. He doesn't play big. He's more like a small guy in a bigger body. Just with comparatively reduced heart and skill.

But he sure is good at racking up stats while the team loses!

Like I said, it's basically a worst case scenario. You could then use Curry's expiring + Wilson or Gallo to potentially net you another key cog. Keep in mind that even before this trade was made, we didn't have enough cap to both hold on to Lee and bring in a guy like Joe Johnson. That kind of emphasizes how important this trade is for us from a financial perspective.

I agree though, I don't want to see this situation come to fruition and if it does, Walsh's plan failed. Still, it would be better doing this than nothing now that we pretty much have to be competitive in the next 2 seasons because of the picks.

bro if we missed out on Lebron + Wade/Bosh/Amare, we're royally fugged, let's face it... Joe Johnson, Lee & Camby are not going to get this team into the playoffs IMO, & even if they do we'll be barely squeaking in... then Camby will likely retire in a year or two, & we have nothing but HOU's late 1st round pick in 2011 for the next couple years to replace him with down the road... we went all in on a hand we don't even know we hold at this point, & DW is playing blind man's bluff with the future of the Knicks' franchise... for his sake he better win this pot.
