How long does it take until S. Rod is starting at point and does he put up better numbers than Duhon?

Don't forget who is coaching the team. Talent, success, the big picture, play much less of a role in D'Antoni's rotation than his comfort level with certain players. Duhon is definitely one of those players.

My sense is that he will start soon once he gets familiar with the system. The dude is a winner.

so if sergio starts playing considerable minutes right away you won't be able to say that statement from now on.

lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

I'll join you in rooting for the guy and hoping he's great. However, look at the guys he has played behind. besides Tyreke Evans. There's a reason for this stuff.

I guess it depends on if you think Toney Douglas's development was an important part of getting the team ready for 2010. I personally felt Douglas and Hill should have been getting minutes. I also liked Hughes at the point for some minutes if you are going with the playoff mantra the coach was preaching.

How good is Duhon?

From what I have seen, Rodriguez is no lockdown defender, however the real issue is not going to be his defense, but rather how he runs the offense compared to Duhon, and I simply cannot see him being inferior to him in that category.

The guy has played limited minutes, scored more points and had low assist totals, but he may just flourish in the MDA system as long as he can hit the open J consistently - that's what killed Duhon...can't hit the open J consistently. I think he takes over for Duhon full-time in about 2 weeks.

Not good at all, honestly. He is a better passer than Duhon though.

I don't expect big things from him, but it's certainly an upgrade at the PG position (or back-up PG). It's easy to imagine that we will do better by playing Sergio and Duhon 24 mins each instead of letting Duhon get 40.

I read the same thing. Good passer but no defense. Since duhon is average atbest on d, Sergio should be an upgrade.

I personally love this dudes game...think Jose Calderon but more creative. That's who the Knicks have in Sergio. I just hope he gets a shot and I hope dude takes advantage.
