The guy is the only one who cares about Defense -- that most holy tenet of New York fan theology -- and you want to run him out of town?

For shame. You betray exactly what you claim to hold most dear. You know you'll clap for him when he's in someone else's uniform.

Hell, I did that just the other day for Kurt Thomas, right before I heard the name "İlyasova" about 20 or so times.

Hey - Jared is who he is. Some guys kill him for not being better. Some kill MDA for putting him out there as much and as often- and I think that is where the blame lies- its the coach for putting a offensively lacking coach on the floor.

He is a good defensive player, but he is overpaid. However, if the rumor is true, the Knicks will compound the mistake by mortgaging their future to get him off the cap. If I had to choose between keeping him and trading him for the 3 picks, I would keep him.

i was basically the only one who endorsed the jeffries signing way back when. the guy has stunk and i look like a fool, but in all honesty, his defense is very good and he would make a very solid rotation player on a playoff team.. when you play for the knicks and your team sucks your warts really show up.. and i mean REALLY show up.

You're not alone. I remember when that signing went down and people were heaping the praise on Isiah. I used to do my annual JJ signing update to keep guys honest. I hated that signing.

I think this is alot like doing a thread for Anthony Bonner except I think his minutes were alot more productive and his contract never jeopardized the future of the team.

i never knew a player could have so much negative value that it would take 3 potential lottery picks just to convince some team to take him off our hands... & to think we signed this guy to a full MLE... Isiah musta been smoking some good stuff when he made that signing, probably the same stuff he was smoking when he signed Big Turd.

We should really appreciate Jared for the big time impact he has had in getting us into the lottery, missing layups and being impossible to trade without including or lottery selection.

Isiah Thomas you truly are a piece of ****. Getting paid 5 million for destroying a franchise and it's fans moral you are only sorry for the Jerome James trade. Four lottery picks surrendered for Tracy McGrady and Eddy Curry.

But, here is to Jared thank you for trying and taking charges. Your 4pts and 4rbs are the American Dream. Let's hope he gives the rockets the impact they deserve because god knows making a layup when your reach extends over the rim is an accomplishment.

Jared Jeffries is one of the worst basketball players I've ever seen. He's not even a good defender. The rest of the team is just much worse. I can't believe how much Mike Breen loves and talks him up. Jeffries is so useless.

He's been an albatross for the time he's been here. One good 3 week period isn't gonna change that. Was a terrible, terrible signing when it was made. He's an LLE guy and maybe a 9th or 10th man and a specialty player at best.

jared jeffries had zero offensive skill. but he was 1 guy playing defense with 4 guys that did't care about it. he didn't belong on this team. but he can help alot of other teams in the league.

You don't need 5 good offensive players on the court. You do need good defenders. Jeffries is a good defender; too bad about his contract. Honestly, I'd rather make our capspace by letting Lee walk than do the trade being reported.

Would Jared Jeffries play in the rotation of a Championship contender? The answer is hell no. So please don't make him out to be this elite defender because he isn't. His man to man defense is so overrared and his rotating defense is nothing special. His best trait is taking charges. That's it. He would not play on the Lakers, Cavs, Magic, Mavs, Nuggets or Celtics imo.

I said he was a good defender; I never said he was an elite defender.

Would he make the rotation of a contending team? It depends. Not everyone with a ring is a great player.
