Since this season hasn't been so great, I thought it would be nice if we could have some positive thoughts on here.

1. We get one great player this offseason.

2. We can use Curry/Jefferies contracts next season to get

a) underpriced role players
b) draft picks
c) $18M worth of talent in some combination

3. We actually have a draft pick next season!

4. Gallo/Chandler on the cheap for the next 2-3 seasons

5. Saying bye to Chris Duhon and hello to a real lead guard

6. We can talk about something other than Lebron

7. Saying bye to Larry Hughes, Al Harrington, and depending who you ask, Nate the sometimes Great

8-10 anyone?

Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

8. We have a homegrown all-star bigman in David Lee and he wants to come back.
"This is a very cautious situation that we're in. You have to be conservative in terms of using your assets and using them wisely. We're building for the future." - Zeke (I guess not protecting a first round pick is being conservative)

We've been bad so long I think I favor negativity. I've been properly taught to expect the worst being a Met Jet Knick Ranger fan--I can absorb the blows. Out of all of my teams the Knicks were by far the best over a long period despite not winning the big one--but this last decade[did i say decade??]has brought that great 10+ years period down a notch. Now I lump the Knicks in with the other teams--rightfully so.

Thank God for Uconn we still are a tough out in a bad season --the culture is toughness and winning--we know nothing else:)

10. We are no longer a rudderless team. Donnie has a plan and he is sticking to it. Gone are the days of knee-jerk reactions.

* No more immature idiots.
* Financial flexibility.

(overview: A commitment to put an end to the mistakes of the past 10 years in totality and create a clean slate of which to build a new team on)

Are there really any other points to look at?

Maybe that's why I'm an optimist. Yankees, Giants can't follow hockey. I can't complain about the Yankees and Giants for the next decade.

lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

10. teams always improve after Marbury leaves... we just haven't gotten around to that part yet.

After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

Being able to function like a real franchise again.
Getting back the respect we used to have as a serious franchise focused on winning.
We have some young talent with good upside.
We have the ability to rebuild the team exactly how we want it to be (whatever that actually is, we don't know,
but we can hope it's gonna be much better than it's been).
We've got a solid GM and a solid Coach to move forward with.
