He does deserve it. Good for him.

At least he won't be expected to play defense in that game.

You post as if every single player going to the All Star Game plays suffocating defense.

Congrats, Lee.

This hate that some of you guys have for Lee is absolutely beyond pathetic. He's having a monster offensive season after being drafting as a hustle type of player. The dude has come such a long way in his professional development, and you're bitching and moaning about him not playing defense in a D'antoni system ? Last season he was getting nailed by fans because he couldn't hit that mid range shot, and now that he's got it you've moved to his lack of defense. Maybe D'antoni and the coaching staff decided that for Lee to be an all star, he would have to perfect that shot. Well, he's done it, and as a fan of the Knicks I can say I'm proud of his accomplishments.

We haven't had an all star since 2001. Almost a decade, wake up and smell the effing coffee. And now that we have one, you point out this bull**** ? This is sad.

Or what about Chris Bosh? His defense is probably worse than Lees.

The only player going to the AS Game *TRULY* for his defense is Dwight Howard. The guys is just a beast. And he does still put up a decent amount of points.

Kobe and Lebron are excellent defenders. I think they got voted in because of that.

I am happy for Lee because he is our boy. If I were picking totally on merit I might have gone with Josh Smith or Andrew Bogut, but it is very close.

David Lee should be buying Mike D'Antoni a Rolex!

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

I was going to make a comment but I can see what you are talking about. Bosh glides on the court on some possessions.

i'm proud of the fact that Lee made himself into an Allstar... i'm happy that Lee has transformed himself into 1 of the better PF's in the game offensively... that said, it still pisses me off when i see him lay out the red carpet for guys to come into the paint & get an easy 2... & it happens a lot.

After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

Boshs defense is probably worse than Lees. Everytime I see him, I don't see him on the defense which says a lot. He's LONG and more athletic than Lee.

When you look at him you expect to see a lot more out of him on the defensive end. He is strong in the post, and his length makes you think he would be a great help defender, but his lateral movement is so-so, and it is reflected in the relatively small number of blocks he has.

Good to see Lee get some recognition.

David Lee totally deserves it. the evolution of his game is incredible. Still can't play defense...but why is stating the obvious considered hate?

This is good for David Lee, now he can get recognized for how hard he worked on his game. Somebody will reward him this summer for sure.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

He naps on court. I don't think he is properly motivated up there to be honest. I think he heads to South Beach and pair him with Wade, you will see more out of him. He was more motivated trying to make the playoffs those two years and trying to advance. The thing that bothers me about Bosh and Lee is that they have the physical tools to be much better defenders. You don't go up as high as Lee does when he dunks and move around the basket without being able to do the same thing on defense.

you guys have not watched bosh play at all this year. he is performing at an mvp level. seriously, don't take it from me, watch some raptors games. and he's not gonna go to south beach. he wants to be THE guy and that's not happening with bytch ass wade.

i agree that he's only an average at best defender but down the stretch of games, the guy comes up big on both ends...that includes blocks, steals and rebounds.
