D'Antoni is also looking to remove Harrington from the locker room because he feels the veteran's presence hurts the development of Danilo Gallinari and rookie Jordan Hill.

http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/basketball/knicks/2010/02/11/2010-02-11_big_mac_attack.html#ixzz0fFf1mMqE

Harrington is aware - and not pleased - with the fact that D'Antoni is eager to trade him. If Harrington isn't traded by next Thursday's deadline, the last six weeks of the season could result in unwanted drama inside the locker room.

lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

i would be happy to lose Al and give more minutes to Gallo and Jordan Hill.

the 1 game out of every 5 that Al has a good shooting night and keeps us in a game isn't worth all the rim-hanging, losing the ball in traffic, etc.

There goes our boy D'Antoni, throwing another player under-the-bus. Does he not realize that other veterans around the league are taking notice of his diva behavior?

Say what you want about Al, but he's been our most consistent scorer, a consummate pro, and he hasnt been shy at all about the pride he's generated from playing on his hometown squad. We can trade him, but does it have to be like this?

I am really starting to lose respect for D'Antoni.

How the F is Harrington hurting the development of Jordan Hill?

I didn't realize Harrington is the one who set the rotation. I thought that was the coaches job.

And Gallo? I guess Harrington is the one telling Duhon not to run plays for him.

Again, I thought it was the coaches job.

Harrington MUST GO!

Acquiring McGrady would be no-brainer for Knicks
By Frank Isola

Harrington is said to be upset that the coach won't allow him to operate in the low blocks and instead wants him out on the perimeter shooting 3's. In fairness to Harrington, he may be the Knicks best low post scorer, especially since D'Antoni won't play Curry.

al's been my favorite knick this year, along with douglas. i'm feeling more and more like d'andruffi has really screwed up this year.

Its Harrington's fault that the Knicks shaped a roster that left their top draft pick out in the cold.

A-hole, talkin' about Harrington is the one damaging the development of our your players. Man, GTFOH with that, D'Antoni.

D'Antoni falls in and out of love with players and it's lame. Yet D'Antoni continues to suck off Duhon daily.

Are any of us in the locker room? We on the bench?

We know whats REALLY going on?

Lets throw out some scenarios that might be relevant. Like Harrington not passing the ball or running the offense as directed to pad his stat's in worry that his pending free agency might not yield some big money?

Or in practice he is dogging it?

Or very upset Gallo and Wilson are treated like the future they are?

Losing does sucks anyway you look at it.

Nalod, you may be wrong or right. We have no clue. However, Hughes, Nate and Marbury all had reputations, and guess what, so does Harrington. Don Nelson freaking hated the guy for a reason. He said himself that Al acts and thinks he's a superstar, and tries to be one on the court. He's not even close to being one! I say that, and I cannot stand Don Nelson one bit! I say that, and I defended Harrington before the season. The guy just doesn't play team ball.

I'm not so quick to jump on D'Antoni for his anger towards some of these guys. I don't think we'd be singing the same tune if we traded Tim Thomas for Hughes. At least he was playing in his role. The Crawford trade had to be done, but he was helping us out a lot too.

Yes. Notice that there was not one quote from anyone. Pure author speculation.

While I agree that Harrington has been utilized incorrectly, I also don't think it's coincidence that whenever he leaves a team it sounds similar to this.

Of the Knicks that could be traded, he'd fetch the best assets. I really hope he can packaged for an expiring and a 1st/prospect

D'Antoni gets no benefit of the doubt. He had a lil wiggle room because people could put the blame on Nate and Hughes, considering they've had character issues over the years, but now he's dumpin' on Harrington our best scorer?

Its just a matter of respect. He could answer whatever question, or make whatever statement without painting Harrington's stay and contributions here in such a negative light. Harrington doesnt deserve that.

Its clear that D'Antoni is feeling the heat for his mediocre run in NY, so he is taking any opportunity to embarrass all talent not named Gallo to cover his own ass. Thats pathetic.

And if Al Harrington is this big cancer, Mike D'Antoni can bench him and not play him, you know?

"We can't keep losing with no purpose," one member of the Knicks' brain trust said.

If team president Donnie Walsh does not win the Tracy McGrady sweepstakes at next Thursday's trade deadline or otherwise improve the roster, the Knicks could then start looking toward the future and forget their theory that making the playoffs will help draw LeBron James or another prominent free agent.

It's a bitter pill to concede the playoff race, especially because they do not have their lottery pick. The Knicks' first-rounder is owned by the Jazz, the last vestige of the Stephon Marbury trade.

"In theory you'd say let's do that [play the young players]," D'Antoni said Tuesday night. "But people's lives and careers are on the line. There's a motive to play the young guys more, or try to win games and worry about the other stuff when we have to."

Irate Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni waved his arms at Nate Robinson as Robinson approached the bench during a timeout in the third quarter on Tuesday night.

D'Antoni barked at Robinson for botching the last play with a bad decision. Robinson shouted right back at D'Antoni. Robinson then turned his head and uttered an F-bomb.

The disrespect Robinson showed D'Antoni was palpable. And symbolically the messy scene showed how deep frustration and disarray has attached itself to another Knicks season.
