Can you explain this one to me a bit--I mean if Lebron James DOES NOT come here--what exactly will be different other than we can go back to taking on obscene contracts for over rated players?

I really hope T-Mac is not the backup plan. Signing him to an extension because you can't get Lebron would be a horrible move.

I will be officially done with the Knicks if T-Mac becomes apart of this team.

I think a lot of teams will be in similar positions this off-season. A lot of money to spend but not on the guys you want to spend it on.

I'm just saying if we had drafted Brook Lopez[an incredible need for us] + kept Randolph and Crawford--who dont have long on their contracts anyway--and enhanced the team reasonably--we wouldve been pretty darn good--possibly competing at a VERY VERY high level if you give honest thought about it. I mean Memphis is doing well with NO bench with a similar team that we wouldve had plus we would have had one of the best benches in the nBA. So we have scked for 2 years--we have not improved and done very little to bring the rookies along this year--if we don't get Lebron James--what exactly is the 2010 plan?{This 2010 plan has to be better than having Randolph Crawford and Lopez on the roster]--only way that happens is LBJ. We needed a C and we couldve had a very good one by luck that he fell. I don't want to hear Zach randolph scks JC scks because they have clearly proven that very faulty--they are both good players when put in the right position to succeed. They have the talent. I honestly question if we can get 1 player better than either of them--let alone two. We had to be fancy with Gallinari--not saying he wasnt a good prospect but we did not have a C for 10 years for goodness sakes.

i cannot under any circumstances see walsh and d'antoni drafting lopez. i think they would have passed on him at 6, 16 or 26.

Coulda, woulda, shoulda...

Tmac as a rental only if we dump JJ's paper. Otherwise, let's start fresh in the summer. This year we DO have something to look forward to: Maxing the burn in on our young guys. We might have lost to the Kings last night, but we got to see further development in Chandler. He is going to be an all star. It's time to play Hill and Douglas, too.

February 18th is the trade deadlin for this season, but we can make moves this summer with our $18mil in expirings. And we can grab talent in the draft by purchasing a couple of picks.

The only move I would make this year if we can only trade current expirings would be to get PG with some sack (e.g., Luke Ridnour). Duhon is just pathetic and needs to sit down for the rest of the season.

they are playing well/ok in a different town on different teams with different coaches (as you noted, in positions to succeed -- jc not starting, z has no pressure on a team many thought would stink). why do we have to revisit failed attempts? they are gone, let it go... why not go get marbury and taylor out of china too? lopez is sure bringing the stats... on a 4 win team. what makes you think continuing to collect other folks junk/castoffs is gonna turn into treasure here when it hasnt EVER worked for the knicks??

i do agree that the FO/coach has failed when it comes to the young guys simply because they dont play. reaaaaally dont get that. the fear of getting no one in 2010 makes this approach to the young guys even worse cuz you will need them to play huge roles (unless traded, depending on what trades go down it could make it worse), unless the junk collecting continues with duhonesque like pickups.

GO TEAM VENTURE!!!!!

If We can't get Lebron. Maybe we make a play for Rudy Gay, Raymond Felton and Camby. Look into guys like Travis Outlaw and Sergio Rodriguez for the bench. Then go for Melo or CP3 in 2011.

why is it lebron or bust briggs? if we signed any two of Bosh, Gay, Amare, Joe Johnson, Felton i would consider that to be pretty successful as well.

there will be a strike in 2011 that will change the CBA...and probably in a pretty drastic way. it might be prudent to wait one more offseason before signing up people not named lebron.

What do you think of my earlier suggestion of just looking to balance the team? If We can't get Lebron. Maybe we make a play for Rudy Gay, Raymond Felton and Camby. Look into guys like Travis Outlaw and Sergio Rodriguez for the bench. Then go for Melo or CP3 in 2011.
