Yup...and the guy whomever Lee played against last night is up there too....for a day.

I really like what DLee has done for himself. The Knicks are still no better for it though.

Is that his fault?...I think he would play good 'd' but he is too tired from all the minutes. All his energy expended on offense. Doesn't matter if you average 120 pts a game if your opponent averages 130.

I would say Corey Magette is the best according to the graph, Lebron, Durant have had more possessions over all.

I hate to beat on a dead horse, but _avi_Lee never played defense, even when he was getting far lesser minutes.

No, Crawford would be the best if the chart was Points vs Possessions.

However, since its its Points Per Possession vs Possessions, LeBron and Durant show that they can achieve a lot of points per possession while also having a lot of possessions. In other words, they maintain the same scoring rate even with increased touches. You'd expect a guy's scoring rate to decrease with more touches. But LeBron and Durant's stays super high. So defenses know that Lebron and Durant are coming, structure their defense around them, yet these two studs still maintain a high level of production.

That's why the popular thinking, "Well Player X has 5pts, 5rebs and 5asts in 20 min. If he played 40 min, he'd average a triple double!" is wrong. With more possessions Player X will score, rebound and dish less per possession because he'd tire, defenses would play him more, and it would just be difficult to ensure that same level of production.

I don't like Lebron. I wouldn't mind if he doesn't come here. But I'm amazed at his level of production. It's crazy that he can still score that many points per possession while getting the ball so much. Respect.

Yeah...well who said we couldn't before? I 'm just noticing how high Bosh's numbers are at the level of possesions he gets.

this helps my bosh/melo argument

it shows that the 2 best bigs in the game are bosh + dirk...by far.
also shows how far ahead lebron is from wade and melo...and actually how much more you get from durant than wade.

Yes. Lebron James is above and beyond the best. 2nd highest pts per possession with the most possessions means that he can be efficient even with heavy volume. Adding that all up he's the most productive player in the NBA offensively.
