Harrington, Hughes & Nate for T-Mac, Cook & a 2nd round pick

http://www.realgm.com/src_checktrade.php?tradeid=5442031

- NY gets a potential upgrade at the SG position if T-Mac is healthy & they get another 2nd round pick to play with this offseason... Gallo, Jordan Hill & TD get more of a role in the offense... all the players in the deal are expirings

- HOU gets 3 players who can help them in their playoff push

don’t like on either side.

don’t want tmac here - just new drama, more d'andruffi dnp-cd's, pouting, headlines, crap.

why would houston want to introduce those 3 players to their roster???

what is another 2nd round pick going to do for us? we can’t even get our 1st round picks into games.

Harrington & Bender for Ty Thomas, Big Turd & a 2nd round pick

- NY gets a shotblocker & another pick
- CHI gets a 6th man scorer (after the suspension i figure milking that pick from them is easily doable)

legit concerns about the drama aspect, but i think Harrington & Nate would add very nice depth to HOU's bench... combine those 2 w/Landry & u got 3 guys who can score 20+ off the bench on any given night... Hughes probably doesn't have much of a role since they have Budinger but u never know about injuries & he could come in & provide some defense in spots... unless the concern is about ruining team chemistry, but they will need to shore up their bench to have any realistic shot at competing in the playoffs.

as for the 2nd round pick, there's always very nice sleepers to be had in the 2nd round... we could have picked up Budinger, Pendegraphe & Blair all in the 2nd round last season, & this draft is supposedly even deeper than last years was... & we're going to have several open roster spots that will need to be filled on the cheap next season if we do end up signing a max FA this summer.

I loved this deal but then I realized Thomas will be sitting on the bench with Hill.

nah, not if Harrington goes in the deal... either TT or Hill will definitely be seeing regular minutes.

We'd have to send Gallo to bench to balance our scoring.

Rockets already said no to Al. Remember the blurb..."He wouldn't crack their rotation" and none of those players are Adelman types. It's a fair trade on paper though.

If we're looking to get picks from either the

Nets
Wolves
Grizzlies
Pacers

Even if it takes another team to get involved because these teams have 3 or more picks in the draft.

Chicago and NY always get deals done so I think Tyrus will be a Knick before the deadline. Plus he is a RFA.

Tyrus and James for Milicic and Robinson

- I dont think Walsh would trade his guy Harrington without getting someone good back.

- Chicago gets another big body for the playoff and a scorer off the bench. Rose and Robinson could also play in the backcourt together. Hinrich is as good as gone anyway so they can use Robinson.

- Knicks give up guys who would be gone anyway and some front court defense.

which blurb was this? u mean to tell me Al Harrington wouldn't be an upgrade over Budinger, Anderson or Hayes?

C - Scola 30 min
PF - Landry 28 min
SF - Battier 33 min
SG - Ariza 38 min
PG - Brooks 35 min
6 - Harrington 30 min
7 - Lowry 24 min
8 - Nate 22 min
----------------
9 - Budinger
10 - Hayes
11 - Anderson
12 - Taylor or Dorsey

all the HOU players' minutes remain the same w/this rotation except for Hayes, Budinger & Anderson who get replaced in the rotation by Harrington & Nate... IMO that's a pretty significant upgrade for HOU... maybe leaves them a little undersized but they still have Hayes, Anderson & Dorsey on the bench in case they need to match up w/bigger teams.

Nets

good idea... i figure we should be able to buy a late 1st rounder from 1 of those teams outright for cash considerations like we did last year from the Lakers.

i'd be OK w/that deal... Nate for TT is knucklehead for knucklehead trade off & Darko for Turd is a wash... i think that would hinge on whether or not they can trade Hinrich tho... we could use Hinrich tho, how about this:

Hinrich, TT & Turd for Nate, Fishlips & Mobley's contract (Trade ID #5442524)

- NY gets a PG & shotblocker, filling both their biggest needs
- CHI gets a little cap relief this summer + more in salary savings, adds a 6th man scorer & dirty work guy off the bench
