...and he will miss the Nets game.

IMO it's time for Isaiah to start figuring out how to make this team healthier and younger. Allan will prolly have this problem all season. Who's to say that the knee won't sustain further damage over the rest of this season. Before that happens, serious consideration needs to be given to whether he can be traded for a bona fide star.

We already have a knee drainage big money situation with Dyess. We don't kneed another, espoecially a long-term bigger money issue with Houston. The longer we wait, the more it'll cost.

The last thing we need when trying to make improvements is to have another Grant Hill-type dilemma on our hands.

I am curious to hear feedback regarding how this problem can be resolved. Who can we get in a trade for Allan Houston if it comes down to that? Who do you think Isaiah Thomas would be interested in?
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

All GM's in the league know Houston is injured and overpaid even were he healthy. So what can we get in return ... a maxed out disappointment who still has many years left on contract. Not worth moving Houston for someone like that.

Think our best hope is to get a solid backup for Houston by trading Ward, Eisley (we can always hope) and/or Dice so H20 doesn't have to play more than 25-30 minutes a night and hope he gets healthy. H20 can still fill it up and help the team. I'd hate to see him traded for someone who does more harm than good, unless we find a sucker willing to give us a player w/ many fewer years left on his contract, and I just can't see that happening.

I dont know why NYK fans are so loyal to H2O? I got jumped when I took a shot at him. He is so incredibly one-dimensional its not even funny. cannot rebound, cannot pass, steal, defend and he cannot even break down the defense. He is a jump-shooter. A 3rd option and he is paid like a franchise. Its ridiculous how many cap problems that makes now and just imagine what happens 2 years from now.

We can never trade Houston even if he was healthy. No GM wants his MAX FREAKING contract. I hate that about him. We have to sit on him till 2007 when everyone will be miserable. Lets just sit on him and trade him with 1 or 2 yeras left on his contract.

unless of course he cannot get open and KT shoots a 3-pointer right? H2O is not a max-contract player. Steve Kerr can hit the big shot too. I'm not saying H2O and Kerr are on the same level but there isn't that much difference between them.

Silver why when Houston is playing well you're one of those who brags on how sweet Houston's jumper is, now you wanna bash because he's hurt?
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

I never said that. You should really make sure before you start accusing me of being two faced. Just so you dont get confused again: I never said I hate houston, i always said I hate his contract. He has a max-contract and he is not a max-player.

And not only is that statement baseless, I never blamed him for being hurt nor am I bashing him now. HE IS GETTING WAY TOO MUCH MONEY!

I don't care what Houston earns any more. Is it too much? Yes. KVH also makes too much, so does Eisley and Anderson (did I leave anyone out?)

If someone offered me $100,000,000 to do my job over the next few years, I'd take it, even though some may say I'm not worth it.

Houston has contributed to this team, played hurt, kept the Knicks in games and helped them win (recently). His D seems to have improved. (I still hate it when he dribbles the ball off his foot.)

The Knicks should give Houston adequate rest to avoid further damaging his Knee. They should try to get a decent backup SG.

I wouldn't care either but him making all that money is one of the reason why it is impossible for us to sign free agents. The players of Jermaine O'Neal's caliber. Franchise players.

If a team can't trade a player's contract, he's overpaid.

Houston is overpaid - you'll never get equal value and you'll have to take on equally bad contracts. He is not a good all around player. But he is a GREAT SHOOTER and he can get his shot off. Just enjoy it and live with it - because I think the only way we get rid of him is by taking just as much in contracts for worse players.

i agree, unfortunately we must live with it. Besides we can afford to have a max out player but he must be better than KVH and Dice.

A few points:

1) Even if Houston were paid what he is worth - the KNICKS are still way over the cap.

2) If houston is the third best player on your team you've got a damn good team. I'd argue the Houston was as good or better then most of the third best players on the last 10 world champions.

3) Getting rid of your best players and starting from scratch - fails way more often then it succeeds. Getting the franchise player you need comes down to LUCK as much as anything else. And there are less of them then you think. In the last 10 years there have only been 4 guys that have actually taken their teams to the promised land: Jordan, Shaq, Duncan and Akeem. Everyone else is a wannabe. Put anyone of them on the current Knicks and they're championship contenders in most years. (This year if LA plays up to there potential NO ONE else is a contender).

4) Even with Houston contract if the Knicks could be a MUCH better team if they were luckier/smarter. They've (and a lot of other teams) let some pretty good players go by them in drafts.

5) Because Spree seems to always be a barometer against who the current Knicks are measured against. Apparently he was over paid to - as the Knicks shopped him all over and the best they could do was KVH - another player you don't think much of.

6) Houston is not a great defender - but defense is a team thing. The Knicks managed to play great defense with Houston on the floor when VG was here so I think this argument is overplayed.

The most recent news is that Allan is going to play today. FWill is still a question mark.

IMO this will be a more accurate barometer game with Allan in the lineup. If we lose big, look for Isaiah to make another change sooner than expected (especially if this turns into another losing streak).

I believe it was the NY Daily News that had that report. I will double-check their website.

Yeah man, Knicksbb10 and I are going to the game tonight too. we'll be in section 313, row H. If you and Silver show up there, try to check us out at halftime.
