Do you think Boston would bite on an offer of:

Lee
Nate
JJ
and Mobleys contract

for

Ray Allen
and Eddy House

This isnt even a rumor, just an idea.

Also, how much do you think Ray Allen will sign for in the offseason and would you want him on the Knicks?

ray is too old and has a history of injury problems & house is vastly overrated and his defense is woeful

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

while I might entertain losing a young player to shed JJ or Curry's contract Lee isnt one of them. When we have another piece of two Lee will be a core player of a very good team.

Incoming Players
Ray Allen
Brian Scalabrine
J.R. Giddens

Outgoing Players
Eddy Curry
Al Harrington
Nate Robinson
Jordan Hill

This is a trade that I would seriously consider and I believe one of the best offers the celtics could get. They get two nice pieces for their bench or they could shift pierce back to the two and al to the three and have nate robinson off the bench and add jordan hill to their core. Eddies salary is a lot to swallow but I think it's a fair deal. Considering the Celtics have no cap space.

They want a guard to replace Allen, fine, give them Wilson.

If we can still trade Mobley's contract:

Cuttino, Chandler, + Curry for Ray would work for both sides.

Ray Allen is not a long term solution so if Boston is expecting to get a 22 year old productive player with potential to improve like Wilson Chandler, they better be willing to take Eddy Curry or Jared Jeffries. I also wouldn't mind getting Big Baby Davis as part of the trade. He would be a great fill-in in case Brigg's dooms day scenerio happens with David Lee signing with another team and we also fail to sign Chris Bosh, Amare Stoudemire or Carlos Boozer. Davis has shown he can be a capable starter. He was great in the Playoffs.

i would assume they would move ray for a young sg but on a long term deal - think monta ellis or kevin martin.

I can't see any way short of an additional 2 or 3 first round picks that they can trade Ray for Monta or KevMart. And KevMart may be traded because Evans is a two, anyway.

If Ray was on ANY other team I can see him traded to teams like the Lakers or Spurs but no way they trade him to another contender.

They would he best suited trading him for the bench they don't have.

I would do

Nate, Will, Jefferies, and Curry for Allen and a 1st rounder.

Ray can be a salary dump for us.

We don't help them win a championship with anything we got. Thats their goal.

They Got their trophy with bringing in KG but now have to live with the decaying hangover.

Eventually at all garage sales you got to decide if it is about the money or clearing out crap.

This kind of trade makes all the sense in the world for both sides.

Boston- Gets a replacement for Allen and a bench of Jefferies and Nate.

Perkins
KG
Pierce
Chandler
Rondo

Nate, Jefferies, Big Baby, House....

Hell I would even consider doing the whole cut thing with Allen so he can go back to Boston.

Knicks-you do this you can now sign Lee and 2 max free agents. You shed $20 or so mil from payroll. Now you can field a team of possibly

Hill
Lee
Gallo
Joe Johnson
Lebron

You are also not giving the Celtics anything really worthwhile that can kill you down the road...IMO. Nate also will agree to this trade.

Detroit trades: Rip Hamilton, Kwame, Chucky Atkins, and Wilcox to Boston
Boston trades Ray Allen, JR Giddens and Bill Walker to the Knicks
Knicks trade: Hughes, Jared and Wilson Chandler to Detroit

Why it works???

Boston is shopping Ray Allen to get a cheaper alternative that can still produce at a high level for the next few years...Rip arguably has more left int he tank than Ray Allen. Rip is also a grizzled vet that fits the douchbags in Boston. Rest is just fillers though Atkins and Wilcox could probably fit in as well.

Detroit...cap relief...they already have Ben Gordan signed long term. Why do they need Rip??? Rip shouldn't be playing small fwd. Prince might not play another game as a Piston...he has a weird back injury. Wilson Chandler fits in with the rebuild there at his true position of small fwd. Jared fits the piston tradition as well and they could use his vet leadership.

Knicks drop Jareds contract and get the inside lead on signing Ray Allen next year. He's not gonna command even half of the salary he's getting now next year so he would be a nice compliment on a 1-2 year deal for whoever else the Knicks manage to sign in the off season...Besides Jared is freakin gone!!! Cha-ching!!!

I am a genius!!!

I just checked this trade, I proposed it from my phone doesn't work.

Curry, Jefferies, and Nate for Ray Allen works according to ESPN, but not RealGM.
Curry, Jefferies, and Nate for Allen and Giddens works On RealGM.
Curry, Jefferies, Nate, and Will for Allen and Tony Allen works according to RealGM.

In any trade I would be willing to cut Ray Allen so he could sign back with Boston.

A move like this saves $18 mil(just Curry, Jefferies, and Nate) to $20 mil(with Chandler). Enough for another max contract. It moves our salaries down to $7 mil this summer. That can be as much as $47 or $48 mil in cap room!!!

A LBJ/Joe Johnson/David Lee shopping spree is actually possible!

I would do it to dump Jeffries if nothing else, and I would more than happy to include Lee if that;s what they want.
