I hope for the purity of the game that they are able to keep Bosh--that being said--they have guys who can score at every position--including all 4 guys off the bench. They have big long skilled smart guards 2 7 footers an athletic young 6-11 back up and a very promising very athletic rookie who looks a little like a young Clyde Drexler. They are hurt by being a tad soft and Turkaglo isnt playing consistent. If they could get the type of production--or anything close to it--what he did last night--they would easily be formidable come playoff time and perhaps serious by next year kept in tact.

I'd like to see us kind of follow along the same lines where we get 9 guys who can all score and have the size and balance throughout the roster. Relying heavily on 6-7 guys leads to injuries---maybe you can cut it down during the playoffs but I think a 9 man rotation--maybe even 10 if you throw in a 4th big at times is the smart way to go. I like Memphis starting line up better--if Memphis had Toronto's bench they would challenge for the championship this year--thats how good their starters are and how poor their bench is. They hurt themselves by not taking Evans over Thabeet--even thought Thabeet has shown some good signs at times-

derozan is 20 and is improving daily.
reggie evans has yet to play (although is finally practicing) so that will build some toughness.

the biggest question is if bosh will re-sign.

if he does, he's 25, bargs is 24, derozan is 20...and role players bellinelli, weems and amir are no older than 22.

they need a big time impact guard...but those are tough to find. hopefully derozan becomes one but that will take time. that's why bosh's re-signing gives them a few years to get it all together.

they are making due with what they have and they have a dynamic gm that will continue to make moves and find unique ways to improve things that aren't working.

will they ever contend for a title? probably not b/c not many teams have that type of luck.

but they are the underdog team in the nba and they are starting to find their way as a franchise.

as for this season, after a bad 4.5 weeks, they are now 19-8 in the last 27, 14-5 in the last 19 playing a top 5 tough schedule. the next 3-4 weeks, the schedule opens up and becomes lighter and they can make a run. not good enough to beat bos + atl. could scare cleveland a little bit and could beat orlando.

he is a raw developing player. the dude is pure energy, goes after every rebound and tries to block every shot.

he is a bit unbridled and fouls way too much (always reaches in).

but he's 22 and colangelo is not willing to part with him. he's a free agent after the season so i hope they re-sign him for like $3-4 mil a year.

this is the first year he's allowed to play and he's providing the raptors with a big lift off the bench as reggie evans has been out all season.

Amir kinda reminds me of that kid Alexander Johnson from Florida St. Remember that dude? Similar type of game. Last I saw he was with the Heat last year -- hurt his knee and then suffered a concussion near the end of the year. I thought he was pretty athletic and had some talent...
