...that the 8th seed is a .500 team?

This is why I went off in the one playoff thread telling you guys that the teams that would make the playoffs would eventually play like playoff teams and even though the East starts off every year with 5 playoff seeded teams under .500 that they eventually play better. So you can't think that 35 wins would make the playoffs.

You also couldn't watch the standings and keep saying "we're only 2 games out" because there is so much more that goes into that than just winning two games.

So now here we stand. 5 games out. 8th seed is .500.

Can we put these playoff dreams to bed? And just focus on the young players already.

I think we have to wait until the deadline passes.

For by then there is no reason to play any veteran heavy minutes. No need to make them look good for a potential trade. For that is done with by then.

So we have about 3.5 weeks left of this stupidity....and then we will see the vets drop minutes to the kids.

we make the playoffs if Duhon plays the way he did at his BEST last season. otherwise i honestly think that the Bobcats and the Bulls are just playing better basketball right now.

The Bulls have been on a nice run beating quality teams. Bobcats lock people down on D.

At least we're making progress this year and if we're out of the race I'll still watch games to see how the young uns develop.

Let's try to elevate the level of discourse in this byeetch. Please

We are definitely not a playoff team. We're beating bad teams and sometimes decent teams or .500 teams at home, like Charlotte. However, once we even step foot on the court against good teams, we lose.

And there's no doubt that the East is playing better. It's good to see that all the current playoff teams are at least .500.

playoffs are locked up. the top 8 are set. now 1-4 are jockeying for positions as are 5-8. no other team is going to make a run.

I think you're correct however. To see the 8th seeded team at .500 probably means it's over barring massive injuries.

this is where teams make surges for the postseason. knicks are not doing it and their schedule becomes brutal down the stretch with 14 of 19 on the road.

from your lips to MDA's ears... i wish he'd wake up & play the rooks & let them develop, but i'm willing to be patient until the trade deadline... after that, if Fishlips is still getting big minutes & both Hill & TD are getting sporadic play, there's something seriously wrong.
