maybe the knicks should offer curry + cash...

you have rip for an extra year (2011/12) but cut off about $2-3 more mil in the cap this summer.

plus the team needs a sg...

The guy can ball, but these guys on Detroit just aren't enticing to me anymore due to Chauncey's departure.

absolutely love rip. hate that contract. it's actually 2 years longer than curry's.

hopefully the Knicks sign don't someone worse than him with a contract that ends later.

joe johnson at the max for 6 years or rip for 3 years after this season for 12M per? interesting.

ah the dreams that cap space makes it possible to dream of.

Actually, getting rip for Curry is smart. Curry isn't gonna be moved anyway, so mind as well have a useful player in that salary slot. Plus Rip provides leadership to a degree.

On the flip side, getting rid Rip creates a leadership vacuum in Detroit and strong leadership is what you would need to keep Curry motivated.

I think that trade is more than doable. I don't see why the pistons would balk. The guy isn't a fit there and they need to move Ben Gordon into the starting lineup. It would also allow them to make a trade next season.

is rip better than whoever we can spend that same $12M on after next season for the next 2?
