I want Mike James!!! I just bought league pass broadband so I had a chance to check out the Washington/clippers game...Mike James is still just as strong, quick and fast as I remember him. He's a NY guy too so he has that nastiness about him. Very confident. I think Donnie needs to call about this guy...make a lateral trade and get a close up look at an awesome point guard....he calls himself a "play maker" in the interview below...that is acurate...Knicks need more dogs not pussies like Duhon!!! No way would Mike James fall into multiple stints of puss. Keep in mind Mike James averaged 20/6 for toronto over 37 mins a game.

Amityville's point guard Mike James told The Post he is hoping the Wizards can find a new home for him at Feb. 18's trading deadline and he is the expiring contract the Knicks would be willing to take on as they look for backcourt help.

The sharpshooter has played just three games this season and was showcased in a game last week. But he was back in a suit during the Wizards' 106-96 victory over the Knicks last night, even with guards Gilbert Arenas and Javaris Crittenton suspended for the season.

"This isn't how I envisioned it," James said. "I want to get out of here. The coach [Flip Sanders] never had me in his plans. I could see [sitting me] if we're winning, but you can't tell me I can't help now."

As for James' interest in playing for the Knicks, the guard said: "MSG is the mecca. Every New York player's dream is to play there."

i been listening caca... would love to bring Mike James here, he's a guy i've proposed trade scenarios for in the past... just like his fearlessness on the court & his ability to make big shots... in many ways he's like Nate Robinson tho, so not sure how he would fit unless we were to trade Nate at the deadline too.

not sure he would be received by the other posters around here tho... if Larry Hughes is getting so much flack for complaining about his lack of a role on this team then James might be considered the anti-Christ.

Look at that year....yeah the Raptors didn;t make the playoffs but they didn't have the weapons they picked up after they let Mike james go. He was incredible that season. Great assist and scoring night just about every night. It's shocking that after a performance like that he barely got intrest from other clubs and is currently sitting in the doghouse in Washington....

Nobody can tell me this dude is a trouble maker or like marbury in any way. This dude is respectful dude. I know that for a fact. Not a team cancer...at least he doesn't show it and his teamates always have high praise for him. It's a damn shame...I think he is a victim of the NBA blacklisting him...seen it happen forever. He makes a point about that in the video I posted too...He went to a no name college. He's not supposed to be in the NBA. They don't wanna market a guy like him. Period...there has been countless players like this since the league started. It's ****ing bull****.

yeah bro, i didn't mean to make it sound like Mike James was a complainer... & i definitely agree w/u about his character... i've always liked him as a player like i said... but he's doing exactly what Larry Hughes is doing in NY now, they both wanna be out there & they're both not happy w/the lack of a role on their respective teams... i don't see how that's disrespecting the coach as much as just looking out for their own livelihoods (don't know how Larry Hughes has disrespected his teammates tho, unless you're talking about previous stints on other teams?)... both are in walk years & they both need to be out there on the floor to earn their next contracts... i've never had a problem w/Larry Hughes' comments & i wouldn't have had a problem w/Mike James either if the roles were reversed... i think either one of them are useful players to have on your team & deserve to be seeing playing time... i'm just concerned that if we still have Nate on this team that James wouldn't get much burn either, & judging from how Larry Hughes has been bashed around here for complaining about his role, Mike James would probably get the same treatment.

actually Hughes said his 8 minute stint that night when MDA put him into a game after several DNP-CD's was a joke, he didn't call it a joke because MDA didn't notify him that he was playing that night... he said he would appreciate some communication because there wasn't any... using the word "joke" to describe his 8 minutes that night was probably a mistake, but u can understand the guy's frustration... how can he possibly earn his way back into the rotation if he's only given such a sporadic run? it's not like he's a rookie who expects to see limited play... Hughes is a guy who is used to having a major role on teams he plays on... when he sees such limited play like in CHI & NY, he gets restless & wants a bigger role... he has yet to request a trade as far as i'm aware, he's said he wants to stay here he just wants to see playing time... i see nothing wrong w/that... it's true that he was playing like crap before he got benched, but he was also coming back from an injury, it's to be expected that he'd need some minutes to get back into the flow of the offense... MDA pulled the plug on Hughes cuz he panicked thinking the Knicks were falling out of some imaginary playoff run this season at the time... if i were Hughes i'd be pissed too watching scrubs like Jonathan Bender who were coming off 4 years of inactivity seeing minutes ahead of me.

& i don't see how Hughes disrespected his teammates in any way complaining about the lack of communication when he got his first DNP... he seems to be get along fine w/his teammates & he's always smiling when the team is doing well & they shoot to the bench, unlike Marbury who looked completely disinterested in any of his teammates when MDA banished him to the bench.

i totally feel u on everything with Mike James... i think he would be an upgrade over Duhon too because he provides a scoring threat, something Duhon does not, & he makes big shots in crunchtime... he can be a floor general not just a wild chucker like Nate can be at times... but we all know that MDA would never play him over Duhon, so basically unless he's coming to fill Nate's role, i don't see a role for him on this team.

James played high school basketball at Amityville in New York.

There ya go. He is pushing for a lateral trade, too.

hopefully last night's performance was enough to convince WAS to accept Fishlips for Mike James... that would explain MDA playing him for 48 cot dayam minutes.
