From Yahoo Sports...

The Bobcats could dangle D.J. Augustin as trade bait to bring back a power forward or center, according to Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports.
Augustin has slipped to the back of the Bobcats' rotation and is averaging just 17.5 minutes per game. The No. 9 overall pick in the 2008 draft has struggled defensively and to make plays for others. Depending on where he landed, a change in scenery could benefit both parties.

Would I be absolutely crazy to think that Larry Brown would be interested in Jared Jeffries since we all know he liked him when he was here anyway? The swap would be pretty easy.

Jeffries for DJ + 3mil trade exception the team got from raja bell trade

A poster on realgm posted on this topic yesterday. He quoted from a source that includes Chad Ford. However it was purely speculation on the writer's part. This is the quote but he did not put up a link.

The Bobcats are one the hottest teams in the NBA right now, having won nine of 10 in January, and look primed to make their first playoff appearance in franchise history.

But according to ESPN's Chad Ford right now, they're not content to keep riding out the season with their current roster, and may be looking to add a veteran presence in exchange for second-year point guard D.J. Augustin.

So might the Knicks be a fit? Augustin has been a bit of a disappointment in his second season, but Mike D'Antoni is still craving a point guard to run his system.

In exchange, the Knicks could send back veteran Jared Jeffries, a contract they are currently trying to get off their hands.

The Bobcats would need to send something else in exchange, perhaps Acie Law's expiring deal along with Gerald Henderson's small contract, though that would leave the Bobcats thin at the point guard position. The Knicks aren't looking to take on anymore salary, but with Law's expiring deal, they'd at least be shedding some.

Not ideal for either side, but something that could potentially work.

DJ Augustine has.. average court vision in my opinion. He has better foot speed than Duhon... shooting is even worse than Duhon (he's shooting 35%!!!). He's a backup in this league.

Now, if you view him as a way to dump salary I guess so, but losing Jefferies would suck at this point. As sad as Jefferies is... he's our anchor on defense (and that's why our record sucks!!!) but it's the truth.

i disagree that he is a backup in this league. sometimes players need a change of scenery and i think this is defintely the case. he is quick and is a much better shooter than 35%

Better than Nazr Mohommad

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Well Felton sprained his ankle tonight so you can count on this not happening anytime soon, if at all.
