My prediction is the Chollie will be traded to Spurs for RON MERCER. Ward's style of dump in the post and spot up is perfect for the spurs who only have Jason Hart as a backup . Mercer brings his 2 guard abilities to the knicks and was raised in Chicago ,also a product of Chicago as is Frank Williams. By the way so is Leon Smith. So Zeke might be looking to CHI-TOWN for new players.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Ron Mercer would be good but I would try to swindle the Spurs to take Eisley instead. Eisley would not be exposed with Duncan patrolling the middle. Also, Spurs plays the pick-and-roll a lot and Eisley is a much better player than Ward in running the pick-and-roll.

We could give ATL lots of cap relief with either McDyess or Ward as part of a deal. I'd really love to see Theo Ratliffe on this team. Ratliffe would take alot of defensive pressure off Thomas. A front court of KVH, Thomas, and Ratliffe with Sweetney/Lampe off the bench would be a nice start towards a versatile front-court. Another player I'd like to see come in a deal is Kevin Garnett.. maybe we could get him for someone like Howard Eisley although i'm not sure the CBA would allow it .

I think Mercer would be a pretty nice addition to the team (at 6.7mil this year, it's pretty close to Ward's "guaranteed" contract-- is it close enough for a straightup deal?). His contract expires at the end of this season, so at least given the Spurs' need for a quality backup PG, this is a no-brainer.

There's no way we'd be able to dump off Eisley in this deal.

Hmm... I guess as long as Amaechi is waived, we'll still have room for the project Smith, eh? BTW, are we allowed to trade Amaechi/Norris immediately? Wouldn't the Magic (and several other teams) be interested in Amaechi? A few years back he was a pretty big prize with the Magic, averaging 10ppg in 21mpg. He's 33 now... and 6'10" big men that can score are still a premium in the nba...

Murray just came off season ending injury from last yr so he isn't back to where he ws before the injury. Toronto won't even use him anymore.

At this point just dumping Eisly for anything is a good move, just like Spoon. And btw, good job repeating what I’ve posted a couple of weeks ago with your Mercer for Ward thread playa. If it wasn’t so word for word I'd write it off to coincidence, but c’mon man, you usually come up with your own stuff of all people, albeit it being all wrong most of the time lol.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

Mercer is a bum I dont see what good he would do us. Ward is far more valuable.

I would love it if we somehow got Murray for Eisely. Maybe Murray wants out bad enough that they'll do it.

Well word around the camp fire is that we may go after Darius Miles.
So here is a trade that can benefit both the
Knicks and Cavs.

Knicks send Mike Sweetney PF, Othella Harrinton PF, and Michael Doleac C to Cavs for Miles SF and Desangana Diop C. realgm 1377906

Miles would gives the Knicks more athletism but I don't know what else and Diop gives the Knicks a young defensive Center to groom behind Mutumbo. In addition the knicks free up a roster space for Lampe or Leon Smith.

The Cav get a young post up PF that will eventually compete with Boozer. Harrington a hard working vet who can contribute right away, and Doleac a jump shoting Center to complement the post up style of their center Igalskas.

Cavs not gonna trade Diop.

i would not want to trade even sweetney for Miles. Miles is a known bust. if his game cant improve under Silas and Lebron, its not gonna get better on the Knicks.
